That's when you could get into a serious accident and still drive it to work the next day.

Wow, that's a very impressive feat and not an easy one to duplicate. As a DD, she's averaged just 2000 miles per year. Not many folks nowadays drive that little distance with their DD's.

I'm currently averaging 3K per year on my Z after 10 yrs, but it's not my DD. But if I hold onto it, at this pace, I'd be well into my 90's to just match her milestone now with that car, and she's still driving hers and extending it!!!! I don't see it ever happening to me.

Granted I don't get T-boned buy an old dude in this vehicular gauntlet I call South Florida, this is how I plan on keeping the Z. It's been a DD for the the past 7 year and average about 15k a year. (Currently at 155,XXX miles)

Like you have to ask. I still have an 84 Skyline and I DD a 91 RX7. No s***, seriously, my smartphone has been pissing me off and I dug out a phone from years ago and it's sitting next to this computer charging up. If it holds a charge I fully intend to turn the smartphone off and reactivate this one. The only thing I kept of my Mom's stuff other than some bricabrac is a 70's stereo unit, the kind that's actually furniture. I will restore it and begin buy records again. Yes, records.

New is great, but it's not, in and of itself, enough to drive my consumption. My DR30 will be with me till the end. Ironically, it might be responsible for my end, but I like that symmetry.
