I just read a thread where someone said this fourm was turning to crap I totaly disagree . I found this club 3 months ago and i knew nothing about the ka and other motors and ect.Now i can just about change anything on my car or install any mods on my car thanks to the folks who ask all the dumn @$$ questions. And the only reason they ask Dumn @$$ questions is cause they dont know anything about there cars and probly exicted that they have found a club like this. And star clicking away and asking questions. Is there any way to have newbies read the seach options befor there givening member ship. Thats a thought. If this thread is not to the modator likeing remove it please. No offense ment here but this club has really great info and most of the members post good links and info as well if it hadent been for this club i would have had to pay lots of mony to get my car fixed Thanks again and and enjoy the club you have a good thing going here and its growing

Personally, I think that it's not the dumb questions that degrade this or any forum (The only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked). It's the responses and the threads created by them. I see nothing wrong with responses that have a personal touch or even some humor, but at times, they get quite carried away, in many cases with heavy insults or sarcasm.

We all have to start somewhere and the minute someone asks a basic question, they get flamed. Just as much typing could be spent just answering the question and ending the thread. Instead it becomes a response of several flames lasting for days. Perhaps the one who posts the original question gets discouraged from asking any questions or frequenting the list. Not a great way to get a forum to grow.

Remember that we all had to start somewhere. I know I used to ask my dad a lot of dumb questions when I was young. But everyone does not have the same life growing up, so they may not have had resources and may not now. So they turn to places like this only to get flamed. And this really applies to a lot of lists/forums. Quite sad if you ask me.

It's always posts over senority and I don't think post number means ****, but people think their on top of the world once they reach a high number, I was flamed before, but that didn't discourage me, this is only online, who really cares what other people think of you, if one person won't help you and act like a lil *****, theres bound to be others who is more helpful.

I'd like to know who actually thinks post counts have ANYTHING to do with seniority or intelligence. I've got loads of posts, but I am one of the most technically illiterate members here! Yeah, I have some insightful opinions on occasion.... but none of us with high post counts have ever used that to envoke some kind of superiority. And anybody who takes themselves that seriously has some issues that extend well beyond the scope of NICO.

This is the only online community that I spend time in. A lot of the members that we interact with become familiar personalities. This is a great community, and it is always changing. For better or worse, we just need to appreciate each other and live by the golden rule. You know..... treat others how you would wish to be treated.... yadayadyada. A little mutual respect goes a long ways.

Let the sarcastic people be who they are, and let the noobs figure out how they fit into the picture instead of giving them a pacifier and security blanket. Let people be, and moderate when needed. I think we all basically agree on the basic essentials of human kindness, and if a member goes overboard we usually put them in their place.... right TwoForty.:D (yes that was a joke... don't get mad)

i think the main problem with some of the dumb questions that are asked is the way they are asked. a lot of people that get flamed get flamed because no one wants to read their bad grammer. people need to stay in school, and while you're at school, don't skip english class.

My situation exactly. I literally have no one to turn to, to learn anything mechanically. Its just me sitting under my car like an a**shole trying to figure stuff out.

Grammar and spelling are two different things. Reading posts with poor or incorrect spelling is far easier than a paragraphed sized sentence with not one puncuation

What's wrong with people asking basic questions/repeated questions? I don't find any problem with that... it keeps the forums alive.

What BOTHERS ME are people who post messages with topics such as "Help!", "How do I?", and "These forums"

Can you guys be any more specific?
