Thermostat: where the heck is it?

For an 01 qx4

Glancing at the FSM I couldnt find anything on the thermostat. I want to flush my coolant as its looking pretty dirty and I dont know if its ever been done. But I dont know were exactly where the thermostat is. And if its easy to replace or I need any special tools.....

Also about flushing the coolant, I was planning on simply removing a lower rad hose, or one of the smaller rad hoses on the bottom of the radiator, but that wouldnt get rid of all the coolant now would it?

Thermostat is on the engine side of the drivers side rad hose where the hose connects tot he motor, remove 3 10MM bolts to remove the water neck and the thermostat is behind it, be careful to take note of its direction when removing it.

Obviously drain your coolant first though, there is a drain plug on the bottom passenger side of the rad
