Where the bottom radiator hose goes into the engine....three bolts hold the housing on ....it pops off , the hose with it. (Or you can remove the hose first, which is a better idea but i thought it would help to illustrate)

A couple of tips since I just did this to my KA24DE...

the bolt under the housing was tricky to get to. I had to find the right length socket extension to reach it. When reassembling the housing, I found it easier to put that bolt on first through the hole before I put the housing on. Otherwise, it's near impossible to see.

And if your thermostat has a nipple to let trapped air escape, make sure it is up when you place the thermostat on.

100% win method of thermostat install.

Boil thermostat till it opens in a pot of water, Remove thermostat, jam it full of aspirin.

Install, and fill with the radiator cap open, while the car is running.

No annoying bleeding problems, and it dissolves quite quickly restoring normal thermostat function ^_^

Plus your car is headache free

Yeah...All it does is keeps the thermostat pried open so when you fill it, air doesnt get trapped behind it...which is why you should fill it with the cooling system fairly empty and the engine running so it doesnt start dissolving the moment you close the housing..but rather only when you start to fill it
