I don't think my thermostat is stuck open because the car heat up just fine,I don't think it is stuck closed either because the hotside and cold side temp gauge tell me that coolant is circulating.

But um, my car is overheaitng a bit, the normal running temp is 80C, but if I am in traffic it will go as high as 90C... this is with the AC off, with it on it will go over 100C and I'm not turning that thing on until I get this resolved..

after some reading, I Don't think a nismo thermostat will help since at 75c+, be it stock or nismo, the thermostat shoudl be wide open at this point

so maybe my old one is broken and I need an oem replacement? hehe that doesn't really follow logic huh? but I Am desperatae

I dont think the thermostat opens until 85C, and 90 or so doesnt seem too hot to me, is your needle hitting the "H" ?

In any case, you can check your radiator cap, if it leaks and doesnt pressurize enough (or at all), it can cause the car to overheat on hotter days because pressure lowers the boiling point.

accoridng to what I Searched, stock open at 76c and nismo open at 67C

we know that the gauge cluster temp display is next to useless... at 80c it's right in the miggle, at 100c is sitll right in the middle...

I am relying on defi temp gauge for hot side and power fc for cold side
