I have a rb25 with a aftermarket radiator and 2 12" cooling fans. I have noticed that with both fans on, the car is right aroun 110 degrees. Is that healthy to the engine. I was thinking about it today. If the thermostat doesnt open then that means all that coolant in the block is just sitting there getting hotter and hotter right or am I wrong.

Help me come to a conclusion. Im thinking about ordering a radiator fan controller switch.

doesn't sound right to me. Water temp in the block is controlled by the thermostat. Hotter than 190-210 F it should open allowing the coolant to circulate through the rad. If the engine is warming up, eventually the T-stat will open. Having the Rad fans running all the time will cause the engine to take a little longer to warm up all the way. 110F sounds like it's overcooling. (i.e. no thermostat installed)

yeah that may be the case. maybe i added to much coolant and no enough water. but i think that the aftermarket rad and fan are keeping it to cool. i need to go ahead and order the fan controller.

110 F is extremely cold for an engine, even without fan controllers...

First, try checking the voltage and continuity coming out of the coolant sensor's harness and the sensor's electrical resistance (pages EF & EC-100 and EF & EC-160 of the 1993 FSM). Maybe the temps are fine and you're just getting a distorted reading.

Also, the more water you have the colder the engine will run, so try adding more antifreeze/coolant to the mix to get it running hotter.

As of now, what is the operating temperature if you unplug the e-fans?

i meant 210 my bad. i replaced the thermostat with a 170 and it still wants to climb up to 210 or so. im just going to get a nismo thermostat. that will be the cheapest alternative. ill probably do a lil ducting as well.
