I have this problem... Doesn't seem like the antifreeze circulates. The upper hose is always really hard to sqeeze. The lower hose is fairly easy to push together and much cooler.

*1st day I cranked the car since headgasket replace. I blew my last one. Antifreeze was getting pushed out of the canister. I have a feeling the same thing will happen to this headgasket if I continue to drive around. I was wondering if anyone had this problem because of a stuck closed or open thermostat or a bad water pump? My pump doesnt leak.

Just want to add.. When I was driving home before I replaced my headgasket, my power fc was reading the temp at 96 degrees celsius at highway cruising. It would jump to 113 when you get off the gas or get on it then right back to 96 or so. Today when I started it up for the first time and after warm up it was at 82 celsius.

based on the lower hose symptoms, i'd pull the t-stat & check to see if it's stuck closed...verified when doing a pot-o-boiling-water test...

that'll be the easiest & cheapest route to go 1st...

i'd suspect thermo. however, if you're going to change one, i'd change both unless you've recently changed your water pump.
