Hi GUys

Having this funny issue.

Recently notice that i am short of a theremostat in my ride (91 200sx (S13)). Therefore i went to purchase a thermostat and insert it into the radiator piping where the (Goose neck). Once it was installed and i refilled the coolent. I even bleed the air out of it and filled the coolent till full.

Upon starting of the engine, temperature rose to 80 degree and higher and higher (as shown on my after market meter). Slowly the stock temp gauge also increases. My engine start to have overheating issue.

After which i suspect it was due to faulty thermostat in which i took it our and pour hot boiling water onto it. Indeed it opens, this proved that my thermostat was not spolit.

After which i installed the hose back without the thermostat, my engine temp maintain at 70 degree at most. No overheating issue.

May i seek seniors comment in what is wrong with my car ? Thanks!

I do realise that when my engine over heats the spare water thanks rise to full , does this show that my radiator is working too ?

Please advice thanks !

Hi All

Just to update.

It was caused by a leaky cylinder housing.
