I just pulled the thermostat housing off my RB20det and the thermostat in on there pretty tight. Is there anything I need to undo before pulling the thermostat out? I just want to check before I pull on it hard.

Also, what kind of RTV do you recommend for the housing? Thanks!

Nope...just get a small flathead screwdriver and pop it outta there. I used the high-temp copper gasket maker for mine.

DONOT USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN GREY GASKET!you will break something as the other gaskets will not yeild to the torque applied to the bolts.

Hmm...Never seemed to have any problems with mine. But I guess I'll make sure to use grey in the future.
