Thermostat = gas mileage

How much will my gas mileage be affected by my thermostat being stuck open - in ohio, it is cold out

A lot, and the wear and tear on the engine from running rich all the time is bad.

The engine will not be able to warm up properly, which is a much bigger problem than bad gas mileage. Especially in cold weather, the engine needs to come up to operating temperature quickly or else it will cause a lot of wear. It is only a $10.00 part, just change it.

right on. I just got the car a month ago and didn't realize this problem until our temperature dropped drastically a few days ago. I'm going to get one right now.
