http://www.outlawengineering.com/index.htmlHas anyone tried these? concept seems sound, they don't have a ka one yet but they do have them for the sr guys and a few other nissan motors. Discuss.

Thing is, coolant runs through the ka's intake manifold. So regardless of what type of spacer you have there, your still going to have coolant heating your intake manifold. They are good gaskets dont get me wrong, but they arnt worth the work or price if your stock one is fine.

About the intake manifold coolant...someone brought up a good point the other day when I said something about it. They said that at a certain point, if your intake charge is really hot, the coolant will start drawing heat away from the intake manifold. What I previously thought was that it was just more emissions crap and it heated the intake charge so it would burn off more readily and completely, thus making less pollution. Anyone want to clue me in?

I had them on my 2003 1.8l Sentra, you prob won't see the power gain that much, at least I didn't but it doesn't help that that was a small displacement motor. Don't know that it's worth it unless you have a large displacement motor.

Your intake charge is never going to be above 200d, so thats a bad point.

Your right about the emmisions stuff though. A hotter charge air burns cleaner than a colder one. However this is not good for power.

I no longer have coolant running through my intake, so i think i will have my local machine shop make me one of these and i will take some temp readings to see it it does make it cooler. This should be a plus for the ka-t group.
