I was driving to work this morning and dropping my wife off at the ferry when a small spider comes crawling out of the front defrost. It went across the dash and my wife pulls off her shoe to kill it, but it crawled into the A/C vent. The little guy escaped it's fate.

Your spider has good taste in homes! I thought this might be a thread about plenum removal

Ah yes... the "Silver Spider of Death" as Wes has kindly referred to it. As I am in the middle of the under plenum job, I can testify to the recalcitrant nature of it. The silver spider is no fun to deal with...

However, with that said, I'm scared to death of spiders. Had a spider crawled out from under the dash while I was driving, I almost certainly would have been involved in or the cause of a large traffic accident. I would have made every effort to kill it... even if I had killed myself in the process.

Better than having a family of rodents jump on you when you raise the hood...................or getting bit trying to get the snakes out of HVAC.

True... though, rodents don't frighten me. Annoy me, yes. But, I don't have the same visceral "****ting of the pants" with anything but spiders.

On that note... I busted out my travel cover for my golf bag about 2 months ago. Hadn't touched it in 6 months, it had been sitting in my garage. Opened it up, just to be careful, before bringing it in the house. Good thing I did... 5 baby mice running around in a little nest in there. If I had brought that inside and my wife had seen it...well... it would have been the end of the world.
