I've been keeping track of this one for a little bit now and read rumors about it many months ago. As of a few days ago they started shipping. Currently there is an introductory price of 270.00 shipped, but I don't know how much longer it will last. One should be sufficiant in anyones car for daily use.

http://www.creativesound.ca/de...SDX15Le 1.8, XBL^2 and 30mm of Xmax says it all! If it doesn't say anything to you, I'll just say this sub will crank out some serious bass, but will also be very musical with a fairly low Le and an XBL^2 motor.

Someone buy my Elemental Designs 18, because a pair of these would go great in my living room.

Sure it's not as pretty as the TCSounds TC-2000 with the new high roll surround, but it should perform a little better and cost less.

How does this compare to multiple 12" db-500s? I mean in terms of output. The Adire is obviously going to be a little cleaner.

I'm wondering if you were to have bought when the 500s were $75 a piece you'd be able to get 4 of them for $300! They'd surely have more output then this 15".

Not saying it's a bad driver or anything like that. I'm just putting it into perspective.

Yeah, the db500's have good output in multiples for the price you could have bought them for, but they were requiring too big of a box in multiples. With my new design surround design I am now going to be using two subs collocated and 3way Dayton RS TMWW towers and WT/MW center. Though that is out in the way future because I am very far behind on getting things done since our circular saw was stolen My sisters sub I was supposed to have done for christmas is still not done and now she's wanting some good bookshelfs too.

Well here is what the supplier has said about the new drivers.

"The designer of the SDX15 has confirmed that after break-in the driver meets the targeted parameters. I will be posting some suggested alignments later today on the website.

Thanks for your patience.

Bob "

Looks like I will be ordering one, maybe two in the next day or so. I will be making a For Sale ad on my 19Ov.2 soon.

After seeing this sub on AVS, it gave me an idea.My GF's friend is our realestate agent. Her dad is a big contractor here in Topeka and works with a lot of various interior people including guys that do granite and marble counters and tiles. I'm going to see about getting my enclosures covered in a black granite or marble and how much it'll cost. I'm wanting to do a combo of wood and granite, but we'll see. Had I thought about it sooner, I would have just bought two 15" TC2k's or my original and more cost effective idea of two 15" TC1k's.

Oh well, too late now, my SDX's will be here Wednesday.

Those tiles cost ~$10 a square foot

Those look like brushed aluminum ports, am I correct?

I hope tiles aren't 10/ft. I was going to go with an enclosure size of aprox 26wx26hx32l". That would require 18 tiles for the top and two sides. Adding in 20 for veneering the front and back, I'd be looking at 200 bucks per enclosure for a total of 400.00!

I found a place online that sells granite tiles at around $4-5/ft depending on color, but you have to order a minimum of 360ft.

I'm going to check in with some building salvage companies nearby. They will gut and tear down old buildings then salvage out what they can. They may have some marble or granite slabs from walls, counters, floors ect. Some of it could end up being pretty thick (up to 3/4") but the price is usually much cheaper than buying new and added weight will not hurt a thing!

Ah ha! They finally arrived!

Just shortly before having to leave for work they showed up. I unpacked my BASH300, grabbed some old 18ga wire, wired up the coils in series real fast and played some music on the computer. As you can see I have a few cleaning rags under the magnet to help keep it from flipping around. Enjoy my ghetto rigging. It's actually really helping out my little 1" HK computer speakers, or should I say my GF's speakers since I'm at her house.

Look how beafy that motor assembly looks in comparison to the pics from CSS!

Uh oh, looks like sub #2 took a direct hit! You can see the hole in the plastic bag where it impacted and the tear in the box where the basket cut through 2 double layer boxes before impacting whatever it hit. Impressive.

And you can see some structural damage to the woofer. Its aluminum ring is cracked and you can see some of the powder coat is scuffed off of the basket :

And there are a few flat spots in the surround that feel softer than the rest of the surround. It was real hard to get a pic of them. This was the best I could do.

Otherwise, here are the twins sitting side by side with a shirt between them to keep 'em from touching and scratching each other. You can see the crack again by the arrow.
