You must put on a lift at once and find the source of the oil. If the smoke is coming from the differential, check its oil level as it may be near empty and severely overheating, cooking the bearings.

What makes you think it is a differential problem?

You posted this one in the correct forum, so no need to double post in the Q45 Forum.

Do read the sticky above, please.

Take it to an Infiniti dealer and pay them a few hours to list everything wrong with the vehicle, then post list here for help in calculating how to accomplish the $3,000-$10,000 in work it might need to return to near new or the $2,000-$4,000 [discounts with used or cheaper labor] to make it functional.

Many simple repairs can be accomplished by owners or less expensively if you can find a competent independent technican.

Certain leaks are common: valve covers, oil pans, transmissions, fuel hoses, however diff leaks are not common.

Did you just acquire the vehicle?

First, RTFSM!

Remove the top plug first. Fill should be up to that orifice. If you can't feel it, drain and replace. Car must be level. A lift is a lifesaver.

All conscientioius owners replace all fluids and filters for a known baseline unless there is solid documentation to the contrary.

Burning oil smell most likely is the Valve covers. When was the last time the spark plugs were changed? Have you done your chain guides? Or have they been done? At your mileage, if they go, burning oil may be the least of your worries.

I have a 92 and I had the same issues. VC reseal, new plugs, chain guides, and hoses turned my Q into a monster.

For the vibrations, it could be your driveshaft. It's not crazy to suspect it at your mileage. The rubber bearing is probably shot.

See what you can do as far as getting some vehicle history together and letting us know. Then we'll be able to help out more.

Acronyms for new members might be a little "broken pencil". How hard would it have been to just say "Read The Factory Service Manual"? Why do you assume that he even knows what that is?

Come to think of it, and especially considering his general demeanor, the "F" might not mean "factory". Lol.
