... for my car when I take 30 tons of C-12 and blast this ***** into smitherines. The oil seal on the turbo is dead and i'm smoking oil like there's no tomorrow. So now I've got to get myself a damned Turbo and install that thing and then I've got to get a set of tie-rods, and then there's a healthier exhaust for my car and then I've got to get the body work done and then there's the part where I have to get an name brand FMIC... *sigh* Anybody want to buy a SR20DET powered 240sx with lots of goodies after I"m done?

You love it and you know it.

Take the bus for a couple days, you'll be motivated to fix it then. :)

I am motivated to fix it, but I know i'm going to be spending so much money on that thing. My lover hates it that i'm spending so much time and money on it. She's still perplexed, and so am I, as to how at 18 I have managed to blow nearly $7000 on a car.

$7K for a SR20 240? Sounds like you're getting a bargain.

Hope i don't run into those kinds of issues when i get mine... :(

$7k is a lot for a highschooler. Hell at the end of my Junior year I had already spent $700 on the shell, $2500 on the engine, 1 bazillion hours swapping the thing, $300 on the FMIC, $300 on the exhaust and somehwere around $100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.01 on gas.

*edit*I should've sold it when that guy offered me 10K for it. *sigh*

:) Welcome to our broke & hungry because of cars world. Hope you like it here..

If I bring home something that has some type of internal combustion engine, I dump money into it. I never see that money(or even close) when I sell, and I don't care because that's the price of entry!

If it was cheap or free, everybody would be doing it. To do it right isn't cheap or free, as you're finding out. You're not the only one though. I'm reminded of this hard fact every time I walk into the garage.

$7k is a lot for a guy in HS! Job well done! You'll either get discouraged with the cost/return ratio and never modify a vehicle again, or you'll become obsessed with improving your fleet.

Get an emissions canister and just plug some hoses up to it. Doesn't even need to work.

I moved back in with my parents to pay for servicing the Q (free tuition was a motivator too).

VERY MUCH WORTH IT.

Yeah if you were in California I'd hella hook you up on the bodywork and the smog thing. Body work would be less than $500 and the smogging issue would be done in $170 flat.

Agh. I was about to sit down and plunk down everything I've spent on the car and then I realized that, no I didn't want to commit suicide tonight. So I took the paper and burned it, then I pissed it to hell and thought nothing of it. Then I went outside and looked at my creation and shook my first at her and then walked over and kissed the hood and went inside. This is the worse kind of love people, and you all know that. The "I hate you soooo much... but then at the same time I love you sooooo much."

Hi, my name is Chris Yang and I'm a tune-oholic.
