My vote is no as well and i hate the car since people are voicing their opinions lol, I just wish the weather was better here to bring the car's out so i could take care of this one.

Sorry guys, but in its day, it was a supercar, and Porsches are considered exotic, so valid. Just because its old, doesn't mean it lost its status ;)

Nolimit, did I read correctly that you wouldn't consider a GT3RS valid?
- nearly $200k
- 0-60 under 4 seconds
- 500hp
- brakes that could stop a freight train
- street legal race car out of the box

You can argue style on the Porsche all day long. I'm not a fan of the look either. But exotic they are (from the boxster up of course ;)

It was Nolimit's challenge and so if he says it doesn't count, it doesn't count.

Personally I would say it does count based on the point that Ziggy posted. But then again I don't know anything about the car.

So the challenge remains to be a super car. This is a very good challenge, I'm surprised some of the guys in the big cities haven't just passed by their local Ferrari dealership.

Ziggy's points are debatable, may as well call the GTR an exotic as well then or the corvette and viper.

True. But IMHO the GTR is an exotic. It may not have the look of the exotic but its drag coefficient is that of a sharp lined exotic like the diablo ect. Hence why it is known as the "super car that breaks all the rules".

GTR is exotic by defnition: "Originating in or characteristic of a distant foreign country" But we get the point, it needs to be a sweet car at the same time. Well, not many cars can sit next to even a Boxster and keep up, and the Carerra is quite a bit faster... But as Mark said, Nolimit made the challenge, so he makes the call :)

But keep in mind, if you aren't specific in your original post of what you want, don't get picky afterwards. People will just get frustrated and quit playing

BTW Mark, those stats were just pointing out that he said a GT3RS wouldn't count... meaning this car ->http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/New ... mysid=4047

A prius is also quite aerodynamic...... Not all super car's are, look at the drag coefficient of say a countach for example lol.

By your definition of exotic any foreign car like the previously mentioned prius fits the bill if all it has to be is originating of a distant foreign country. And there is plenty i would put up against a boxter lol. Really i think the point of the challenge was to get a pick next to a car that isnt seen by most on a daily basis, i see porsches daily and dont consider them anything special unless it starts getting into the gt3rs, gt2rs, carrera gt etc catagories. And the first two are still based off the 911 which again isnt special it's just a horribly designed car lol.

Exotic: LIMITED PRODUCTION, SCARCITY, DISTINCTIVE STYLING, (to me a Pantera is exotic, a F40 is exotic a CCX or Agera, Ultima GTR is exotic by definition) a GT3RS is not a limited production model it is a variant of a regular old Carrera therefor it is not exotic. (Never said I didn't consider it a supercar)

Super Car: Basically Performance above 95% of the playing field. (price tag doesn't matter as much as pure performance on this one)

And it's not up to me, I say we put it to a vote, but I was really hoping to see an Elise V8TT or a Pantera or a Countach or a 512 or a Delorean (Exotic by the defenition of exotic) or something along those lines

Me too, I don't think anyone is arguing though we are simply explaining what our own understand the terms are. :gapteeth: and it seems that our understanding aligns for the most part. Its actually funny I remeber a thread that went on for hundreds of pages on NASIOC where the two sides of the argument were whether the WRX was a "Sports car" or not, now that was CUTE.

And thats why I said, if you aren't specific in your challenge, don't get picky with the results. This could get stuck on one person's opinion and go nowhere :bigthumb:

And for the record, I did rule out Boxsters.... Twice

Damn, missed this...and for the record I meant a Carrera GT of course, left out the GT.
I agree that they are not really that great in the Supercar arena, more that they are just plain damn sexy and definitely were exotic at the time they came out.

I like the new challenge though, we have all of those Puget Sound Ferries we could get a pic from... :chuckle:

For slickies, hanging out of the windows will suffice.
