Does anyone have or know of a picture diagram that shows what each colored wire goes to that is located under the kick plate and next to the fuse box? (fuse box in the cabin under glove box)

Also, can anyone suggest where I can tap into a wire for the "continuous power supply" and also a ground wire?

Can you explain what you are trying to do? Are you sure you want continuous and not accessory? If you have something running constant your battery may not last long...

You can ground to anything that is metal. I don't have an electrical diagram for this car, so I don't know the wire colors.

If you are sure you want constant power, just run off the positive post on your battery, and put an inline fuse in there for good measure.

AFor the -neg, run it off the negative battery post or else a grounding block somewhere in your engine bay...

Im trying to install these illuminated door sills i purchased. i got the whole "continuous power" thing from another forum. But the instructions that came with the sills doesnt say anything about continous power. However, the instructions are vague and i assumed the guy on the forum knew what he was talking bout since he had already did the mod. But you make perfect sense. Now I just need to figure out what wire is "12v". Ive got the kick plate removed and there has got to be about 40 different colored wires. How do i know which one to tap into for the 12v and what fuction it does?

Your problem is you want to find a 12v accessory wire, not a constant wire. You don't want the illuminated door sills to be on 24/7 otherwise your battery will be dead within a day.

I would suggest off the top of my head to tap into the wire for the light that is in the drivers footwell. It is only on when the door open - which incidentally is what you need. I don't know what gauge that wire is but hopefully it can handle the extra juice running through it...

Alternatively pick up a voltmeter and start testing wires to see which is a 12v accessory wire - eg. will be hot only when x is open/on and not always running 12v. Hope this helps,

No sir, just an avid car guy. I had a 10-sec Lexus SC300 last, and before that a supercharged GS400. Needless to say, I have spent a lot of time wrenching

Now I have a supercharged QX56 and love it!~

For illuminated door sills, it seems to me you don't want continuous OR accessory power. You want to tap into the door switch for the dome/door lights. That way the sills will light when the door is open--which is the only time you need them lit--regardless of what position the ignition switch is turned to.

Oh absolutely, and that's exactly what i did. As for the continuous power, that's a go. You need the continuous power so that they always come on whether or not you have the car turned on. But as I did and you said, they need to be connected to the door switches for the ground. This way when you close the door, they shut off.
