I live in Calgary and we have had blizzard conditions for the past two days.... the snow hasn't been that bad but the drifts have resulted in some communities impassable due to 2 - 5 ft of snow on some roads, including my neighbourhood.

However, my M has just been absolutely fantastic in the snow - last winter I invested in 18" rims and Hankook winter tires. I drive approx 90km (55 miles) round trip everyday for work, through downtown Calgary...and I spent all of my morning commute yesterday laughing at other cars that were struggling to keep moving :D I had no troubles in deep snow (not 5 ft but more like 1 ft) and it would jump right off the line from a complete stop at intersections. I have never been prouder of my M... was considering upgrading but might keep it now as my winter car :naughty:

This morning at 630, made it through deep snow on my street but couldn't get out because there were not one or two, but THREE cars stuck in the snow on the way out.. blocking the only way out. so decided to call in sick and then went out around 11 to play :) and had no troubles going through the same spots there were cars stuck earlier. Like I said - so proud!

Doesn't look too bad in the pics but trust me, real bad at some parts of the street.

You can see the truck in the background on the right in this pic, a full size truck, with drifts of snow almost reaching the side mirrors...

I echo your sentiment! I absolutely love snow, and being able to drive in it makes it that much better. We have 5 cars in our house, and only two were able to drive during the heavy snowfall we had a week ago (Toronto got practically no snow [<2cm], so I came to my parents' place a little further out to enjoy it) :)

I decided to go out and have some fun in the early morning (~04:00)

I was honestly surprised it moved at all! I ended up driving around for a few minutes and returned when my wipers stopped working (they weren't frozen, which was weird, but they started to work again the next day)

My brother's RWD GS450 completely buried the next morning :)

My dad's RWD Jaguar was completely useless

Only other car that was able to move, and it isn't a sedan :)

Overall, I was very very impressed with the M35x's ability to drive in the snow :yesnod

^ Nice ... looks like a lot more snow than what I had to deal with lol. It's an awesome feeling when you can drive past morons in trucks or SUVs that get stuck at lights or offramps lol and you just cruise past in a sedan :D I had a guy in an SUV staring at my wheels at a light in the same snow storm ... probably looking for magical fairy dust :rotfl to try and understand how my car could move so fast in this snow.

I'm so impressed that I've been going around telling everyone who will listen how nice the M is in the winter :rotflmao

^ Very true, my friend. I actually helped out a stuck BMW X6 (AWD) while I was driving around at 4 that morning lol. It resulted in him calling me a "good samaritan," thanks to the M :D My car didn't get stuck once, and I only have all-season tires!
