My wife's 180 is a sad story. She bought it years ago and at first it was fun, blowoff, exhuast a few guages. I did the five-speed swap for her and bolted on an S14 turbo, she loved it. Later it started doing all the little things cars do as they age and the brakes started to go, struts got tired, stuff car people understand goes with the territory, she didn't. She bought another car that was more reliable and I had sold mine so I started driving her 180. I bounced a chump on a scooter off the front end and some dumb old lady crashed into the back during that time and she was really upset. I convinced her to sink some extra money into it and have the car repaired and repainted and I redid the interior in a Whinny the Pooh theme threw a big intercooler in (mounted the core) scored her the Bomex body kit etc but she hasn't driven it in so long and she only remembers the troubles. The car makes her very sad and she keeps thinking about selling it but it has a lot of memories so she doesn't. I have been putting in the time these past couple of weeks to get it running again. I got the intercooler all hooked up and finished the trunk-mount battery today. Now the car has sat for at least a year in the paintshop, at the house, the engine is old and tired, the struts are limp and the brakes are shot, I have a lot more work to do. I jumped it and took it out for a little shakedown wow! I don't know if the car thought it was on the chopping block or what but it still has a hairy sack. It pulls strong with the turbine set at 1.2 and gives a nasty loud whoopwhoopwhoop on the shift (need to hook up the BOV). I was feeling pretty confindent so I decide to wind it out, yeah that was stupid. She was pulling like a champ them boom! the car lurched almost to a stop and I started limping at 2000rpms. I shift into full begging mode "please car just make it home" and throw on the four-ways. I am thinking I just blew the wife's car assin off, way to go dumbass, she will sell it for sure now. I get almost home and all of the sudden she perks right back and drives fine! I start laughing realizing I probably just bounced off the boost cut being a jackass. I am out of daylight so I will go over the car later, check evrything make sure I didn't blow something, drop some new plugs in it, oil change etc and start driving it some to get the cobwebs out. I was really suprized how angry the car woke up, the wife will be pleased when I toss her the keys, she currently drives a 150hp automatic old-school car, the 180 is reading about 200hp on the assdyno and sounds mean as hell, she will come around the first time she drives it.

YOu and I seem to share somethings in relation to the fact that both of our spouses have CA powered vehicles that we find ourselves driving for a kick. The sad part is that we are the builders, so when stuff breaks because of Azz-holin' abilities, we have to repair. My old ladies sentra was last dyno's at 332whp and 277 ft/lbs of torque with a T3 variant blower with .48 back housing. Before it went down the last time and in preparartion of getting it ready for the track last month, I had strapped my drag 60-1 blower and pumped that same 20psi of boost through it.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened with the crank being pushed by the clutch and I'm back to where I've started. And because it's extremely easy for me to get yet another standard block and head, I opted to repair what I got and keep the upgraded components such as cams, port and polished head, double valve springs, forged pistons, blah, blah. So I hope by the end of this new week that I can have her car back up and running, but I don't think she cares because she drives a 93 Taurus SHO auto .

Well, if they would get out there and help out by at least holding the light for us while we work, we can probably get things done quicker too . This is my facorite line to my sweety "Point the light where I'm working at, not in the sky or your face. Dee

The wife stays out of the garage per my request, I work best alone. She is game to work on the cars provided I show her what to do, she is a Tomboy.

My girlfriend is a mechanic. So most of the time she's trying to tell me how to do it. Ok, well she does that with everything, so nevermind.
