The widest tires possible...

Ok, so I need to know what's the widest tire size i can fit on a 9" width rim.I was told 255 and maybe 265's.

You were told right. I run 275's on my 9.5" wheels

I have 275's on my track wheels (17x9).

For street use, with a short sidewall, I'd stick with 255.

On my stock 19" 05 rims, I'm running 275/35 for the rear and 245/35 front. It looks and handles much better IMO!

Vettes that run in SS for SCCA are running 295's up front on 18x9 wheels and 315's out back on 19x10 wheels.

You can run a 295 on a 9" wheel but its a bit excessive and you might get rub
