how long did u guys wait during your whole swap process? my current wait(still ongoing) has been 9 months now with no sign of me driving my car anytime soon. JNR motorsports sold me an engine with blow-by and did a horrible job installing it. there were transmission bolts missing, bad tuning, a horrible wire job, a bolt was missing from the head which caused it to leak and ultimately destroy the head gasket, and many other small things. i brought it to them this february and got it back in may. drove it for about 15miles then it broke. im waiting to rebuild but i really shouldnt have to!

how many of you guys had to wait more than a couple months, had to spend mass amounts of money to repair it, and tell me what the feeling was that u got after finally completing the swap because i have yet to feel the tru power of my sr20det by myself....

Sucks that you went to JNR. I have yet to have felt the full power of my sr build after a year and a half. Did get it to the track though and popped the head gasket before we could really start adding any boost. It's sitting torn apart in a shed till I can get time and motivation to get it running again.

For some reason I've decided to build another car with an SR at the same time, I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Damn sorry to hear thatMines been sitting on the garage floor for a month. Buying a clutch for it very soon and a full gasket set. I'll install those and then when my friend gets me my engine mounts I'll pull the ka and swap in the sr and it will prob sit for a little while til I have money for rad, fuel pump, etc.So yeah.. I still have yet to feel the sr power, but def not as long as you have been waiting

I bought my engine from JSA Motors on the 23rd of December last year, got it on the 28th. It sat in my kitchen on a stand for prep until we swapped it in on the 2nd of November. I just started driving it on the streets Sunday night. So almost a year for me.

I seen a Contract of the OP SIGNED saying car was not ready, and was take at own risk, UNTUNED! rumor has it they were tuning it and it HAD to be taken back ASAP! due to a car show that could not be missed ,even if the car was gonna blow up!

Odd tho. I can scan the paper, OP was it on a yellow peice of lined paper?

Cause it was hanging on a wall... I was like damn that kid wanted his car asap. odd its you...

I waited about a year before I got to drive mine. Mostly because school was taking up most of my time. In the end, I spent alot of time trying to find wiring gremlins lol

lmfao!!! untuned thats it??? does untuned mean an engine with blow-by? an engine with blown rings? sure i signed a contract saying i would take it at my own risk, meaning it was "untuned" but dont you dare begin to tell me that u were gonna fix the piston rings that are clearly shot to sh*t. I had a REAL garage take a look and the compression was at 60 for 3 cylinders...u call that untuned? i call that a total f*cking rip off and im soo pissed i didnt sue your azz....dont start with me russ, i spent soo much money tryin to get this car running...and it STILL hasnt moved...so thanks for the blown engine u sold me, really appreciate your business, no wonder why you closed shop

IBFTL now!!!!

My first one took about 6 months, but this was back in 2000 when SR swaps weren't that common.

My swap took about a week (2 days to install) most of the time was spent getting stuff perfected and figureing out that my fuel lines were backwards...it ran great for 500 miles, spun a bearing and blew it's rings...I saved for 4 months rebuilt the engine to withstand more horse power then I will ever use. I love this engine....anyting boosting 10psi or more feels great (keep it within tuning limits)...Be patient it will be worth it

who's that someone gonna be huh? YOU? how u gonna do that with no shop? i would never let u touch my car ever again, u screwed me out of $5000, a college kid like me on a fixed income out of $5000 insuring me that my car would be amazing after i tuned it. little did i know i was sold a blown motor. anybody would be a fool to get a swap from you.

I never really had to wait for sr power. I bought my first sr and had it in over the weekend.. then i built it up and blew the motor then that following week I went and picked up another sr and went to the track the following weeked and ran a 13.4

Where do you live in MA? Im usually in Springfield at least 4 times a month. Is there any car scene in MA anyway? I was thinking about moving there with my girl and opening a shop for swaps like these and others but I don't see much when i head out there

but sucks to have to wait though. sorry man

Im out on both the east and west sides of mass. when im home im out near boston where theres a pretty big tuner scene but its mostly all Hondas. Out west, near springfield, theres not that much! I hate it here because the activity is very low and Mass laws prevent a lot of people from doing much to their cars. Mass is a nice safe place to live w/o the threat of natural disasters and too much crime but, not if u wanna open up a shop! thats why when i open up mine, i wanna go down to florida!

surprising that someone with such great customer service would get banned here as well as a few others. Then his "I'm taking my ball and starting my own forum" was just classic.
