Okay, I know this question's been answered numerous times, but since I moved out of OC to Riverside, I now have a 50 mile one way commute to work each day. I know I'm competitive, but now that I'm driving such long distances and sitting in traffic much longer, people are 1000x more annoying. Especially since I drive my sedan; people seem to try and "show me up" and get as close as they can behind me, not use a blinker and go into the next lane, pass me up, and get right in front of me without a blinker and it drives me insane! When I drive the wife's 06 coupe 5AT, I don't get nearly as competitive and upset. I also don't think people bother me as much as they think the coupes are 100x faster than the sedan?
Maybe it's just a manny transmission thing? The whole idea of "shifting" is kind of a rush. The unrefined exhaust growl of the VQ35DE coming through the midpipe definitely doesn't help, either.
The bottom line is, I always feel the need to punch it when I'm in first gear at a stop. Well- for one, first gear is such a short gear, you gotta punch it to get it going if you want to take off. Most people's first gen FM platform 6MTs feel the same way, right? Very stiff feeling clutch, very tall gearing?
