So i recently got a tune from EMance for my NA ka with some mods, I have driven with it for around 300 miles just easy around town driving. Today i went to an Auto X and was gonna test it out a little more i drove over to the auto x about 30 miles from my house and when i got to the event we had to wait awhile to run so the car was just sitting.
I went to start it and everything was fine so i went onto the grid and lined up and got ready to run, It was my turn next so i went out took off at 1500 rpms like normal shifted to second at around 3k rpms was taking a turn at 3500 rpms and it just shut off completely i was still gassing and i looked at my tach it was a 0 rpms..
I pulled off the course and tried to start it again and it just was cranking so i got pushed off the course and parked and when i was looking at it i turned the key to 'ON' position and no fuel pump noise at all.. i checked for spark and nothing at all.. i tried it a few times i checked the fuel pump fuse and engine control and they were both fine.
My friend was there with his S13 and i decided to swap ecu's with him to see if that would work (Both happened to be code group 'EP') so i put his in turned it to the 'ON' position and tried to start it.. i heard the fuel pump this time and i also checked for spark and both worked.. but when i crank it for awhile i dont smell any fuel or have any signs of it being flooded from not starting. So meanwhile i try it a bunch of times and i prime it for about 30 min straight and i finally give up.. we go to put the ecu back in his car, it starts right up and he tries to shut his car off and he turned the key back one from the 'ON' position and it just kept running however the idle was a little lower.. he turned it back one more time and took the key out! still ran! he finally just stalled it to get it to turn off and all the seat belt,oil,e-brake, lights stay lit on the cluster even with the key out.. its as if the car is always in its 'ON' position..
Please help!
