im replacing my leaky KA24e with another non-leaking KA24e should i keep or loose the A/C, i live in florida and never really use the A/C as it is and if i do decide to take it out, i can always just put it back in right? and if i keep it will i have to charge it after the swap. cause my lazy self will never get to the A/C place or can i charge it myself. so whats my best bet you guys will know better than me

If it's workig fine now, leave it in.

When you swap motors, just leave the compressor attached and tie it to the side, out of the way. That way the system is not opened, and no recharge necessary.

If you leave the hoses on, you have to leave the compressor and the condenser on as well. Try to remove the engine with all the stuff in the way and you will see what I mean.

if you take it out you have to completely seal the openings and store it in a dry place. if ANY corrosion forms in the components or lines its as good as trashed. a/c systems are very sensitive to contamination. if you reinstall it youll need an inline filter. also the compressor clutch needs to be engaged periodically to keep the internals and seals coated in oil and refrigerant. its a good idea to run the a/c once a month in the winter even for a minute or two.

mine was likely already trashed cause it was completely dry when i removed it however i would have trashed it myself cause i never bothered to seal it. duh!
