Well, maybe. It's really more like; "The Ultimate Engine Challenge for a 240" but it could and would, settle the argument about what turbo engine to put into your car. It would go basically something like SCC's "Ultimate Street Car Challenge" but with all 240SXs. We get one CA18DET, an SR20DET, a turbo KA, the big son-of-a-gun VG30DETT, and the various RBs(20, 25, 26) and do a total performance shakedown, track lapping, 1/4mile, fuel economy, maybe a dyno to judge power delivery(but the track times should do that to some extent) and go at it. Maybe we predetermine a HP limit, as we're all really trying to judge power delivery and fuel economy when we decide whether or not to turbo a KA or swap something in since we know the RBs and someone who goes insanely obsessive-compulsive on the VG will probably take the HP crown. I just think that it'd be a good idea to get real, hard numbers for everything rather than subjecting it to a lot of speculation and conjecture. If anyone hasn't noticed, I'm a numbers geek, and like hard facts rather than other's opinions. Anyway, I was thinking there could possibly be a meet organized around something like this, and maybe some good articles for the site would come up, possibly some sweet video too, just an idea for anyone in a position to make it happen.

It's a clever idea, but nothing like that would ever happen. You wouldn't be able to get enough people with money who would care about this.

There was a small event like this a while back. Maybe a year and a half to 2 years ago. Super Streetsponsored it and it was a shootout for turbo 240's. Two F-Max 240's, one XS and one S15 SR. They did the performance tests for power and I think even the 1/4 mile. They took photos at the big track at Willow Springs, but didn't take times. It probably wouldn't have been very good anyways since it was raining that day. Images of the article are on http://www.socal240sx.org but it is too small to read.

Not to show any favoritism, but one of the KA's came on top. I will say the S15 SR was not really pushed at the time, but the winning KA wasn't either. It would be interesting to get some 240's together again for another shootout.

I think it would be cool too, but also throw some other cars into the mix there, some Mr2s, a couple of ITR's and Prelude sh's, a few eclipses, just have a big four-banger shoot-out.

I'm gonna amend the engine thing, to just being stock with the exception of intake/exhaust,(with the exception of the turbo KA obviously, but with just enough mods to run like, 7-10psi) and bump this up toward the top b/c more people really should see it.Not a bad idea wingzero, but I'm really just trying to see what the best path for 240 would be, that was really all I was interested in with the post
