can anybody explain what the nissan type-x is exactly I know its one of the s13 but why did they make that model and what pros and cons between the other s13. Is it suppose to be limited edition or something? and also are s13, s14 and s15 still in production in japan today?

The production of the Silvia's have been stopped unfortunately. Not sure about your other question though.

the s13s were produced from 89-94, then the s14 from 95-99(i think) and the s15s from 99-o2(i think o2 anyway)however they are no longer in production, and the type X is an s13 silvia that used to be made only in japan that came with the Type x aero package (aka bodykit) and wing, however there were no internal modifications on the CA18det, so im pretty sure they made the same hp and such

the type X package was only offered on 180sx between the model years '96-98. This is when the 180 was also running the blacktop SR. All this package included was a fancy aero kit, the kouki style tail lights, different wheels, and some interior changes like seats.

the type x acutaly had a different wiring harness and ECU. One could speculate that it was an upgraded ECU.. but i dont think anyone knows that for sure.

Nissan 180SXChassis: RPS13 (1991-1998) w/ SR engine

+Chuki trim (1991-1996.5)-Type-S: SR20DE and no standard aero kit (probable)-Type-X: SR20DET and aero lip, side skirts and rear underspoiler (also probable)

Chuki front bumper Chuki taillights

+Kouki trim (1996.5-1998)-Type-S: SR20DE with no aero kit-Type-G: SR20DE with aero sideskirts and rear underspoiler-Type-R: SR20DET with no aero kit-Type-X: SR20DET with aero front lip, sideskirts, and rear underspoiler

Kouki front bumper Kouki spoiler and taillights

Note: Chuki and kouki are informal terms to differentiate style changes. They are not trims. Trims are Type-X, Type-S, etc. 180SX with chassis RS13 was produced from 1988-1990, used the CA18DE(T) engine, and were all zenki-style.

type x has been misinterpreted. anytime a picture of kouki taillights and any kouki aero parts(especially the wing) comes up,most people automatically think that is from the type X. this is not true because there are many otehr models of the kouki. i think there is type g, types, and type r.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

#1 - The Type X is not an S13 Silvia. It's an RPS13 180SX from 96-98.#2 - They Type X was never offered with a CA18DET. Nor was any 180SX older than 90. Nor was any of the S13 model line up after 1990.

The Type X blacktop SR20DET ECU has a slightly different pinout so Type X harnesses are not compatible across the board on motorsets.

when iaccording to japan bro, the S13's AKA in this case the RPS13 where produced from 89-98 a beautiful machine i might add, the S14 where from 94-98 and the lovely S15 was from 98 to 2k0. the S13 type X came wit the SR20DET (the trubo might of been ball bearing), LSD, those sweat @$$ tails and some other stuff that i don't remember.

94 is an S13 coupe

And an S13 wasn't made from 89-98. The RPS13 was.

RPS13 was from 91-98. 89-90 was RS13.
