What are they used for? Back when my rb20 was in my old s13, one of the green relays was clicking and I believe it was draining my battery. I took the relay out and car ran just fine.. I have now swapped the same rb20 with the same wiring harness in my new s13, do I need to find a replacement relay to put in or what? I have never given it much thought, just curious as to whether its something that really needs to be there.

Thanks

If your car ran without it before..your wiring is totally wrong. The green relays are for the eccs and coils if they are clicking with the car off or the car uns without them your wiring is wrong.

Well I did not do the wiring. Though I would not be all that suprised if the shop that did do the wiring had it all wrong. Just strange that they would keep the relays in there if they werent needed. I will find a replacement one and put it in and see if it still clicks. If it is clicking, does that indicate a bad ground or a short somewhere?

Well if it's working without the relay in whatever relay it is and the object it controls is still working then to me it would suggest that the wiring is wrong and they have power on the wrong side of the relay

It should not run with one of them out, some one must have wired around it...
