The reason why it convinced me is because I read on the IS300 forums a person put it in his IS300, and did a dyno and it increased his raw HP a great deal! He took it out did another dyno, and bam, HP gone! So if I did not hear about that real life experence, I would never even considered it.
Here was his reply:
"yeah, it works very well.
It easily put down about 35 rwhp and 17rwtq when we strapped my car to the dyno. when we took it off, the hp and tq numbers dropped immediately. then we threw it back on, and the numbers climbed up again.
next, we tried spraying wd40 into the intake piping (took the filter off) becuase it boosts the octane level, and almost works like nitrous. sure enough, i almost got an additional 50rwhp and about a 30rwtq bump. if i recall correctly, i was pushing about 275rwhp with just an intake pipe, and the turbonator and the wd40.
screw a turbo, or research and development. that stuff is just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to get you to pay more. do what i did and go for the cheap smarter route. my mechanics and i are thinking of rerouting the washer nozzle hosing to the intake pipe, and fill the reservoir with wd40. (cheap nitrous, no solenoids to fail)
i'll find the video later. good stuff. you might be able to search you tube for it too."
