this is towards mostly the people who know him and know the false story that he fliped around

ok for those who know the story and for those who dont. you guys know someone by the name of richard daft, daft innnovations, hella daft, the daft lsx, and or that so called rb20 powered daft yota.

well there is a story behind everything right well here is the true story regarding that rb20 toyota pickup.

i bought that motor with some money i got from my moms death insurance right.well i wanted to do something with it to keep my whole life and well i decided to buy a true right hand drive silvia s13 and put tat rb20 in it i ivested alot of money to get it done within weeks so knowing richard for only a little i decided to take my motor to him. well i baught a new tomei headgasket a new hks timing belt and new water pump for him to install he was only going to charge 300 as a friends that he was. so i said do within a week my motor was done.

he called me come pick it up i said sure so i go to the bank to get the money but then relized i was missing money i investigate and find out that the isurance from a crash i had the year before took some money leaving me with alot less than expected to bearily pay rent and bills.

so i call him up tell him i dont have the money can i pay him later he said sure. a few weeks pass by i tell him can i come by drop off 100 for you then i owe you 200 he said no just pay me all at once one payment i told him i right round the corner ill drop it off right now ill have the rest later he still said no so i took off.

next thing its been close to 3 months since he fixed it he give me a call and tells me you got the money i need it. i told him i could have it that weekend he tells me ok on saturday morning he calls me you got the money i tell him yes ill be on my way to drop it off in a few so i get up go to take a shower not even 15 minutes later he calls me to tell me that he had sold it i ask him why i have the 300 illl be there in a few he tells me no its too late its gone and that was the end of that he hung up.

a week later my friend tell me have you been to riches shop? im tell him no whats up he all you should go take a look so i get in my brothers car a car that rich doesnt recognize and pass by and there i see him dropping my rb20 that he sold the previous week into his toyota i call him he tell me i didnt sell it sorry its mine now and hella other B.S..

so i around the side sell him sorta the transmission ecu me giving up pretty much thinking ill never finsh and drive my silvia.

some time passes by and he gives me a call telling why am i telling the story of the rb i just tell him people ask questions alot of people wanted to ride or drive my rhd s13 so i told them what happened he was mad as hell i guess he lost some buissness so he tells me give me 600 to get your rb back so we can end all this madness with rb20 crap so i tell him ok he tells me have it this weekend on friday the latest i talk to my dad to borrow the money he tells me ok friday comes my dad didnt get payed so he cant let me borrow the money i tell rich can you wait till tommoroe he said ok the next morning he calls me saying sorry son i sold the truck i get angry as hell then relize he did the same crap 2 times so i pass by his shop and he still have the truck til this day saying a built it its my rb my creation like he earned it and if he tries to flip this and try to involve another shop which i will not mention.

i will not mention that other shop cause he still my friend i still refer people to him and still am a customer myself because he will work with people and so on and me and him have fixxed our debts and that is no longer a story for those who want to know who i am my name is carlos ortiz also known as KONIG i am located in modesto close to riches shop and to this story is no lie and there aint nothing in here but the truth its just taken me a year and a half to take this anger out and have finnally decided on doing something about IT!

till this day i am angry and mad i never finished my project dedicated towards my dead mother thanks to him i parted it out and sold it and rich knew where this money came from and what it ment to me and still did what he did.

wow, even if i could understand you i dont know that i would believe what i was reading. i know daft from the toyota boards and ill pass this thread along to him... and it sounds like you violated whatever contract you had with him, verbal or otherwise, when you suddenly told him you didnt have the money to pay him for the work he did to your car or the cost he incurred to store it etc...

im sure he wont mind setting the record straight with his input. just gimme a min to contact him.

hey konig here is an honest statement. You should have been more patient with doing the work to the motor. If you kept failing to pay then he does reserve the right to keep that motor for payment due. it sucks but you are the one at fault here for not doing your part of the deal. I am truly sorry about your mother and all the other issues that developed afterward but you should have done everything possible (hustle up) to get that money to him. This happens all too often and i say your at fault 100%

Hey so I read the part about you saying that he stole the motor from your dead mother or something? I don't understand how that's possible. But really, a car is a poor investment considering depreciation and cost of maintenance etc, especially in this case where you are wanting a tangible memorial to a loved one that you can't afford in the first place.

it aint that i couldnt i recieved $40,000 in a check and decided to invest 10,000 in my project i paid bill i had and let my brother borow a huge ammount he went to jail and now i dont got that money for another five years.

i told rich ill do payments he siad no and when i had the money he told me one minute to come get it then not even 20 minutes later he tell me he sold what kinda s*** is that he coulda esily told me give me a few extra bucks for the storage i had the money then. but no he decides to say he sold it when he was actually allready putting it in his truck thats bulls***

the engine and parts he paid for... took to a "homie" shop to have his friend install the parts. between the time the engine arrived there and when it was ready for pick up the owner had some financial issues and at the time couldn't afford the $300 so was trying to make payments and was told just to pay it all off when he had the full amount... no biggie. time passes and the biz owner calls and says he needs $$$ so owners gathers it up and heads there... calls BIZ owner who states he already sold the engine so don't bother coming over. later that day or soon after engine owner drives by shop to see that his engine was not in fact sold but being swapped into a toyota pickup....

point is... was only $300 and a rather short amount of time before biz owner decided to keep the engine for himself

1st. 3 months is NOT a short time when it comes to a shop. That's a whole quarter of a year. Imagine if your boss said "I know I said I'll pay you Friday, but instead you'll get it 3 months from now.

2nd. How do you know he didn't sell it to the person who owned the truck?

how do i know? 1 i known him for a lil over a year befor the incedent and the toyota is his work truck to carry his parts and motors

2 he installed the motor into his own truck still drives it around calls it the daft yota oh and even post videos on youtube and pics on myspace.

3 on another forum one of his buddies called him told him the scoop and now is trying to reason with me again saying that he will pull out the motor to give it back if i give him the cash after he beat the s*** out of my rb
