Well, I was less than thrilled when I started my car this morning only to find the TPMS light was on... So, I checked the pressure in all four tires... one was down to 20 PSI. I was due for an oil change anyhow, so I had the dealer check it out... turns out, I picked up a nail. All fixed! Had I not had the TPMS, I wouldn't have known until it was too late.

Yeah, lucky me... BTW; it costs $15 to plug a tire.

much better than what it'd cost for a new tire, wheel, and some possible body work ;oD

Just be happy that it could be plugged. The last time I had something in my tire, it was in the sidewall. I had to get a new tire.

I also had a similar experience!

Because I've heard so much about the TPMS screwing up, I thought my car was broken! I woke up to a crazy yellow light on the dash, and just for arguments sake (because I was going on a 200 mile trip!) I decided to go check out the tires.

I found that my right rear tire was at 21 psi!

Filled it up with air, but I would have been looking at a potential blowout!!!

Don't just assume it's a worthless tool... there's a reason why it's there!
