here is what i am working with and after seeing what PapaSmurf2k3 did with his car I have a little more hope for this car.

The car is a 89 240sx HB and i think it has a ka24 in it.

Here r some pics of the bottom of the car.

So i am ready for a lot of work a head. So sit back, relax and enjoy the show

Ha, I just got a tetanus shot last week.

In regards to your car there... I would try for a cleaner shell to start with. That's just me, though.

Best of luck to ye.

i agree. i'd part it out. make a little extra cash. and buy/save up for a better shel to start with it. unless your really going to put your heart into this. theres nothing better than a complete restoration

Did you find that thing in the lake???? I too think you should find a better shell. If you play your cards right you can make some money parting it out and buy a better one.

But then if everyone started doing that, there would be no shells left in the junkyards...

I thought about looking for another shell but those cars r hard to find and if i do it would cost more then it would for me just to fix this one up. So i might as well stick with this one and get my feet wet and hope for the best and pray i can fix it. But the bottom is the only problem with the car the rest looks great. There are a couple of paint bubbles here and there but the r solid. J just dont know were to start. I think i am going to start from front to back. The bad part is i dont know very much about these cars and i think they r a uni body so the frame is a part of the car so the only thing i can take off is the front clip. But i could be wrong. What makes me feel better is my friend fixed up a 1965 Buick that was a lot worse then this car. So if i take my time it should look great i hope.

Is funny when everyone says "Just get another shell" I just think is kind of stupid getting new shells, because they have a little to a lot rust. I am always happy to see a person like the OP that wants to restore and bring back a 240SX from is destine to the Junkyard. Good job on saving a S13 and good luck

ok I have a problem and i have looked and looked about this but every one seems to be on both sides. The problem is that i dont know if i should keep the stock motor in my car or go with something else. The motor is a ka24 and i am going to put a turbo on it and stuff. So if i need another motor what kind and how hard is it to install.

Use the search button and check out the 240SX tech page. You will probably find most of your answers there.

just paint the car flat black and call it a day

slap some ebay s*** on it.........

will look like 90% of the other 240s around here

for real though. always good to see someone truly do some work on a 240. some sandblasting, port 15, and more than likely some sheet metal, and you will have a really nice base line for a good machine.
