so my new subwoofer is coming today. Finally. I ordered the kicker L5, a 2ohm, dual coil, 300 watt RMS sub, and a kicker amp to power it. So, after plenty of mishaps, I'm finally putting thisin hereafter cutting out lots of carand putting together a custom fiberglass box to put it all inmuch more to come....-Nick

If you bought a dual voice coil subwoofer 2-ohm, are you sure your amp can handle a 1-ohm load? DVC 2-ohm = 1-ohm load, DVC 4-ohm = 2-ohm load.

DVC 2 ohm can be wired at 1 or 2 ohm

DVC 4 ohm can be wired at 2 or 4 ohm

Your fiberglass work looks pretty good man! Was this your first go at working with glass?

quick update; the amp is installed and wired, hidden under that rear storage space in the trunk. It's input signal is coming from a line output converter that I hooked up right next to the factory amp (thanks K03 for letting me know which wires to tap). The remote turn on is wired to the 12v outlet in the trunk. Unfortunately only the amp, wiring, and converter came yesterday so thats all I was able to do. Everything's working... just waiting on the sub, which shipped separately

You're welcome....but if the wires are incorrect, it is the service manual's error, not mine...

I hope you kept your original mold....because I have a feeling you could sell a 100 or so of these "made to order" enclosures.

Keep it going....

the box is getting carpeted yeah, and K03- i used the car, some packing tape, cardboard and waxed paper as a mold. If I wanted to I guess I could make a mold off of mine though

the damn sub still didn't come Ill definitely post some pics as soon as it's in. And as for making more, it's not really something worth doing for me. glass and resin isn't cheap, and I probably spent a good 10 hours on the box alone. And its not something that you could buy and throw in the car 1 2 3. I cut out large amounts of the plastic liner, fabricated and installed custom brackets to securely fasten the box to, and made everything to fit my car just right. At least for now, this was definitely a one time, super custom job

I've been away for the past week... was really hoping to come home to a package with a sub inside but nothing. It's been 13 days, so I contacted the place I got it from. Now just waiting for a response. I'll be upset if I don't get this in soon, as I leave for college the 23rd, and freshman aren't allowed to bring cars I want some time to enjoy this!
