This is not an anti-KA nor pro-SR post! This is purely for argument's sake and to gather information. I still am driving around with bolt ons on my KA, so please don't flame me. I don't even have an SR motor yet, but I will unless you guys convince me otherwise. I am in the process of putting together a plan for an SR swap, but am curious about turbo KA still. So...Yes, the KA with an Nsport kit is making more power @ 7 psi than the (you quoted the S13-the weakest generation) SR @ 7psi. But a stock boosted, healthy SR should run for a really long time without any trouble. Now a turbo KA with just 7 psi is asking for trouble if its your daily driver, isn't it? You are already reaching the limit of the KA's stock internals. You can raise boost in an SR to 14psi, and (because you quoted the S13, this is what I will quote) reach at least 230 whp and still be very safe. But if you have an s15 you can have up to 240hp (flywheel) on stock boost and completely stock engine, even exhaust and everything. Yeah, I know, if you want real performance you should expect to sacrifice some reliablilty or whatever, but that is a major factor to some people, like me. Just wanted to put out the daily driver argument to see what you guys think. BTW I do like most turbo KA setups, so just humor me on this one please.
