now that i have your attention...

i have spent the better part of this evening deleting a bunch of "go SR" posts. this is a KA forum. "go SR" isn't the answer to any of the questions posted here.

how would you feel if you had a question about the SR and someone told you to "go Honda"?

please respect your fellow members, and if you can't answer the questions here then don't post.

Damn, I thought we were going to have an SR bashing thread...lol.

I agree 199% though, no need to post anything about the SR in this section, unless directly asked for in the thread topic.

I hate SR20's!! It seems to be the latest thing in the Datsun 510 circles so everybody wants one. Go KA or go home.

YEAH!!!! GO KA24!!! I never could figure out why anyone would throw 20% of their displacement out the window...ah well. I don't want to be too hard on the SR...it just bothers me when the SR guys diss the KA!!! It's nice to see a forum that is pro-KA!

You SR guys aren't very creative, I expect better from you DonDon. Dollar for dollar I can make a KA outpower an SR anyday.

This is not an anti-KA nor pro-SR post! This is purely for argument's sake and to gather information. I still am driving around with bolt ons on my KA, so please don't flame me. I don't even have an SR motor yet, but I will unless you guys convince me otherwise. I am in the process of putting together a plan for an SR swap, but am curious about turbo KA still. So...Yes, the KA with an Nsport kit is making more power @ 7 psi than the (you quoted the S13-the weakest generation) SR @ 7psi. But a stock boosted, healthy SR should run for a really long time without any trouble. Now a turbo KA with just 7 psi is asking for trouble if its your daily driver, isn't it? You are already reaching the limit of the KA's stock internals. You can raise boost in an SR to 14psi, and (because you quoted the S13, this is what I will quote) reach at least 230 whp and still be very safe. But if you have an s15 you can have up to 240hp (flywheel) on stock boost and completely stock engine, even exhaust and everything. Yeah, I know, if you want real performance you should expect to sacrifice some reliablilty or whatever, but that is a major factor to some people, like me. Just wanted to put out the daily driver argument to see what you guys think. BTW I do like most turbo KA setups, so just humor me on this one please.

Yes, in fact some have found it easier than swapping in the s13 motor. Check out http://www.sr20store.com. This guy was also featured in the infamous SR swap issue of Sport Compact Car, which you can probably read online at their site. His setup is intended for daily driving. You would need to use S14 intercooler piping i think, but otherwise its pretty much the same. That's what I have heard at least. The S15 is a different issue though, not worth it if you ask me. anyway, this is not the forum for this discussion, so I will stop here, Sorry.

you cant compare a KA @ 7psi on a T04B, to a SR @ 7psi on a tiny T25??? thats not a good, or fair comparison.

but, take a internally stock SR, and an internally stock KA, add the same T3/T04, (any spec), add sufficient fuel, tuning, etc. turn boost up to about 20 pounds......what happens??

I'm not dissing the KA, just stating fact. I think it depends on what you are looking for as to what would be the best option.

any decently designed motor is a good choice, L, FJ, KA, SR, CA, A, VG, VQ, whatever. I can't think of a bad Nissan engine to bash. I equate this to argueing; Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez or Elizabeth Hurley.Don't make me choose just give me one!:(

.....KABOOM!!! ...HISSSSS....COUGH...(die) i dare you to do that on your KA and drive it like that for 7,000 miles. Not that an Sr would necessarily last forever, but it's built to handle that 20psi a lil better. Whatever, i agree with that guy up there. ^

Jordass from St. Petersburg huh, are you the Jordan that goes to St. Pete high that just got his 240 and thought he could beat Mattback's Z? If you are excuse me while I die of laughter.

268 HP N/A without the Nitrous? You're eyes are turning brown. How could you have the knowledge to get 268 HP but not now basic informationg about a turbocharger.

That much you pay for 205HP gives you more oppurtunities than a KA would.

There is already a KA vs SR thread. This one is done. There really isn't any good info in this thread, it was started to get the point across that this is the KADET section. So all the pro SR guys can take there favortism to the SR section.

Like TMS said, all the Nissan engines are good. No sense in arguing. The other thread has some good points to read.
