so i just got my sr running!!! after many years of pain blood and hardwork. i awoke the sleeping beast... but theres a few hiccups that i need to take care of before she runs like a cheeta =) when i start accelerating past idle it bogs down a bit, sounds like its not firing on all cyl. when i hit boost it smooths out a little then goes right back into a rough ride.i have no ac or powersteering and i need to adjust the throttle cable and where i had the car theres alot of lowspeed corners that hate the car right now.. or rather me. but thats beside the point. im wondering if said problem is the cas, spark plugs, vac. leak, exc. any ideas would be of great help. ( details on motor down below)my other problem is my cluster. almost nothing works. lights light up gas works (kinda) temp works to. but the speedo and tach are dead, i hooked up a s13 sohc ecu before to make sure the car wouldnt fry my ecu but never started it, it has the 62 red top sr ecu now. i know that the problem has been floating around but ive been looking for a new job and have no time to search, (i do when i can tho) besides the said problems the car is great, after the initial crank for the oil the car fired right up!! only took a few seconds to crank and with a little feness with the throttle she growls now for my upgrades... apexi catback exhaust with testpipe. 3in apexi downpipe, megan racing exhaust manifold, greddy front mount intercooler (not sure what spec it was on the car when i got it) bov and piping fron japan not sure what company ill post pics later, 300zx ignitor chip, walbro fuel pump, 300zx front brakes, with s14 fivelug swap. b&m short shifter, act street strip clutch, and lightened jdm flywheel, 17in rims (yet again not sure what company) i think thats it for now if i think of anything ill update but im kina stumped and tired, so ill check on it laterthanks for the help guys!!!

The bogging issue sounds like bad timing. Hook a light up and see what your base timing looks like.

Also, since someone's wired a 300ZX ignitor in, make sure the soldering job is done right . Poor wiring can lead to weak spark which will cause odd misfires/dead misses.

Also, what year is the chassis?

its an 89 s13 with a 94 180sx motor(saw pics of it being pulled). im going to check the timing asap. ive only drove it for a few mins but after it didnt settle out i parked it and shut it down. my brother told me it would clear out but its far worst than the carbon build up in the pistons. im just really happy its not a rod knock or something horrible like that. ill check the wiring again to make sure the wires are in correctly and soldered in right. thank you for the help

argh i found out that #2 cyl is not firing. kinda why it sounds like a scooby. i tried replacing the coil but no luck. a tried moving the wires to the ignitor chip.... kinda wierd it will smooth out when i hold it* and when i disconect the coil it bogs down a bit reconnected smoothes out again but still sounds like a scooby * but the holding it doesnt allways work maybe 1 of 5 times o and the cluster is still effed up

so i started going through the wires checking to make sure that nothing was crimped and cut. checked the coils, swaped them around to make sure the coils wernt bad. went through everything again just to make sure i wasnt cracked out. almost replaced the ignitor chip when i realized i didnt touch the spark plugs. swaped #1 and #2... low and behold it was the spark plug . so i swaped it out with my old motor and she purrs like a kitten now!!! not the only problem i have is the gauge cluster and the clutch slave cyl. it decided to pune out on me and wont fully disengauge the clutch but im just glad its running on all 4's now thanks for the help ill post pics when i get a photobucket account.
