well, if some of you might or might not know I fully built a SR20det motor. It was on display at the Carlisle Car Show(just the block) I was kind of nervous as is was the first SR that I have built. Here is a rundown

Bored .020 overEagle RodsWeisco ceramic coated pistonsZex springs262(4?) HKS cams3 angle valve job.bigger oil pump assembly

Well I am very nervous on it starting and doing the proposed 600-700hp.But no longer!!!We filled her up with oil tonight and tried to prime her, we wernt getting it pumping right. We just hooked up the starter and turned and turned and turned. We couldnt get it pumping so we went ahead an did some compression testing. 1- 1602- 1903- 1904- 190After a little bit of oil in #1 she went right up to 190 with the rest. Now I am happy and and now sleep a bit safer,... the beast will either go or blow tomarrow at aprox. 7pm.....

what do you mean by after a little bit of oil in #1?? did you put like a table spoon of oil into cylinder #1 through the spark plug hole??

tablespoon.... not even, and yes through the spark plug hole( dont really know how else I would haha)

And it LIVES>>..!!!!!!!!!! ahahahahah vroom vroom zoom zoom

Once it turned the oil pressure came right up

there is no turbo or piping...but it starts then stop then starts then stops

the longest we had it running was about 30-45 seconds(twice)

The 1200cc injectors I think are making run too rich and killing the motor. We acutally sold the t28 for a bigger T3 or T4 dont know yet. Oh yea and it is contolled by Apexi FC. At least nothing fell apart or broke hahaha

I really don't think that's normal. You should probably figure out why it's doing that.

It really sounds like you have no idea what you are doing. I wouldn't be surprised if you wash down the cylinder walls with too much fuel, contaminate the oil, and spin a bearing. I really hope you mean A'pexi Power FC and not AFC.

Also, you do realize that by pouring oil down a cylinder and watching the compression shoot up is not a good thing right? Especially on a freshly built engine? The ring is obviously not sealing against the cyilnder wall.

actually it would be called a wet compression test...and there was not enough oil to fully seal the rings so the rings are sealing properly...and it is FC..the stand alone...umm yea. SR have been ran without a turbo before soo maybe you should read a bit more, not bashing just informing

plus the start up was mostly just to get oil pressure through the system

The fact that you registered 190 in three cylinders and 160 in another is not good. By pouring the oil in the cylinder, your helping the ring seal against the wall. That shouldn't happen with a fresh engine. Just informing.

yes, agreed I do feel that there migth have been a problem, but I am going on the assumption that a ring was just stuck, and the little bit of oil helped it free up and seal the rest of the way....i will check it later and see if it went down at all.
