Bought my coupe from a dealer about 9K ago in June 08. It had new Nissan pads at the corners.Squealed like a pig!! And the fronts produced pounds of dust!Since I'm going to be putting on new (used 05 17's) rims that are in great shape (mine have some disease)....thought I would put on some new front pads because of the dust.53K on the clock today. (rotors looked fine, so didn't turn them.)Put on Akebono's ceramics (Carquest's Gold) and haz silenced the pig!!! Hope the dust storm is gone too!

(Oh, and I told carquest how I get discounts at Napa, and they took 10% off!! )

I know how you feel about the dust. The stock brembo's had to go in favor of some hawk pads. It has made quite a difference. I did it last weekend, took me about 45 minutes for front and back. The dealer quoted me $690.00.

The Akebono provides no where near the performance of stock trust me I had them and it was scary coming to some panic stops as you felt and witnessed your car barely come to a stop. Needless to say, I've switched to the Hawks and never looked back.....

strange, have heard lots of good reviews about akebono....but, then again if you look hard enough you will hear something bad eventually. Have heard mixed reviews on the Hawks, so decided to not to get them.Which Akebono pads did you have??

2008+ all use the Akebono brake calipers...Good BBK upgrade.

I've never heard anything bad about Akebono.

The ceramic pads will have A TON less dust than stock.

About a month ago I installed Akebono Ceramics and I won't go back. They snap necks when needed they grab so tight. I love these pads.
