so i had a problem with my alarm and was looking at the wiring diagrams in the chiltons manual. i noticed a speed sensor and the figure showed exactly where it was at. so, i jacked up the car and took a peek. right where the driveshaft meets the drivetrain, there is a plug/harness. i took it off, but haven't been able to test it out the yet (still daytime).

i've read about people doing this, but it doesn't seem like everyone wants to do it. probably because you don't know Exactly what unplugging this thing does. has anyone else unplugged this thing and seen results? seems like an easy fix, but if it doesn't work it's easy enough to plug it back in...

If you speedometer still works than you unplugged the wrong thing. My speed sensor is messed up so only my tach works and my mileage does not rack up. That is what the speed sensor controls, but for some strange reason I can't top out my car. It is an auto but when it was plugged in I could top out, but now...
