So, my season just got kicked off in this snow-less metropolis we call the midwest. Cascade Mountain (aka HILL) just opened and I got my first day of riding in. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get some pictures of me and the boys up here. Post up your experiences, setups, pictures, whatever.

Gnu Carbon High Beam boardGnu Bindings getting replaced with Burtons next weekBurton Hail BootsAll Burton Shaun White gearAnd the all important Camelback filled up with Apple juice and Hennessey

As soon as we got natural snow I'll get up some pictures of some urban riding too. ISU is riddled with handrails just waiting to be thrashed.

Heading out to Telluride in 2 weeks for a 5 days of riding. Can't wait.Last year spent Spring Break in Jackson. When we got there, we had 2 days of 4+ feet freshies (the first day, it was snowing about 4+ inches an hour) Most amazing two days of riding I've ever had. On top of that, it was Jackson, which has some of the best terrain around. Dropping Corbet's with that much fresh snow was SO cool.

Years riding? Um... I guess this is my 11th year riding. Man, why am I not better? After I get my degree, I'm going to head out to CO and be a lifty for a few years, so riding everyday should put me on the next plateau. Having to go get snow from the ice rink for 9 months out of the year, everytime you want to session a rail doesn't help you get better. Stupid east side of Michigan.

"Home mountain": Um... I don't really consider anyplace I live near really my 'home mountain', though I ride at a local trash dump when I get needy. Before I quit the UofM team, we rode Crystal Mt. almost exclusively, but really, I'd call Breck the only real mountain I know like the back of my hand. I love summit county, and anyone who says it's 'played out' is a pretentious douchebag.

Lol, snowboarding was kinda my life for several years. I sold off a lot of my junk, but I still have a 2 K2 WWWs, an Academy Chad Otterstrom for an all around fun board, and an Academy Rythm for now. I sold all my Capita's, since the Stair Master was a little too buttery and jittery for my liking.

I used to be really into it around the entire East Coast, but all the kids I used to ride with all moved out west and such to really pursue snowboarding as more of a career. A lot of them were really fun to ride with. You might seen a few of them off some TWS videos if you look up some of the guys from Bear Mtn out west, Keystone, and the Colorado Resorts.

Keep eyes out for Kade Madsen, Greg Sudac, Kyle Earl, etc. It's really sick to grow up with these guys.

I haven't been into lately with college work piled on and such. But I also hate the direction snowboarding has taken. I've been riding for close to about 5 years heavily, and things have change so much.

It used to be with a group of friends and everyone would have a great time and laugh. Now the parks and places are full of little pricks and haters, lol. I don't know why kids feel like they constantly have to hate on eachother. Snowboarding used to be about hanging out and having a good time, and not calling out any kid that can't stomp each move.

The places I ride and where the kids HATE on you for lookin good, lol:Mountain Creek, NJHunter, NYCamel Back , PAWatervill Valeey, NH (most fun)Loon Mtn, NHStratton, VTOkemo, VT (also a lot of snow)

I have a few friends with places out west, but I wouldn't consider those my home places.

I got a great camera for riding with. The 770SW.It's good down to something like -10C, it's crush proof, scratch proof, water proof, drop proof (up to 6 feet), and it's pretty compact.

When you do filming you need a designated camera carrier, but for great stills, go with the 770SW.

I got some pictures uploading now. I haven't felt the need to get a camera yet cause all my friends have them and we can always have someone to film/ take pictures.

My friend has a Cannon XTi. That thing is pure sex. His fisheye alone cost about 600 to 700 bucks.

IMO the xti is over rated. Canon makes better cameras for a little more money.

Man-made snow FTL. Ughhhhhh. Come over to MI (Marquette Mountain), we have the first park east of the Mississippi to get a top rating.

I'm pretty new to snowboards. I went for the first time last year and fell in love with it. I live like 4+ hours away, so i go 2-3 times a year (skii'd before), and looking for something to call my own since, i want to get into it and don't want to get rentals.

I went today for the first time. It was so much fun, and a lot easier then I thought it would be. I rented a board though, so nothing special there. It was a 3 hour bus ride, but well worth it.

I started boarding when I was 10 (I'm 23 now) but I stopped 4 years ago and havnt touched a board during that time because of school, work, and relationships. I miss it a lot. Cruising above the tree line with blue sky and no wind, not a care in the world just zig zagging for hundreds of yards....man nothing like it. I did some downhill racing before I quit when I was 14 with the young ones, that stuff was brutal.Home mountain will always be Mount Hood (occasionally Bachelor)
