Hello all. Can anyone help me with this problem. 92Q has a very bad vibration when i'm driving. More noticeable when i accellerate at any speed. The car would shift through gears 1,2,3 somewhat smoothly and when it hits 4th it vibrates even more. Now i could be wrong but i'm thinking it may be the driveshaft or the driveshaft support bearing, or the third engine mount. Help. Has anyone else have this problem? Can anyone give me a way to go? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you're on the right track. Replace the third engine (transmission) mount first - it's fairly inexpensive.

It could be the driveshaft, but it's far more likely to be the transmission mount. Most of us have replaced it at least once. Be sure to do the exhaust hangers, too.

Even .5" of deflection will introduce vibrations - ~50 mph in 3, ~70 mph in D with stock rolling diameter.

Hi, can you explain how inexpensive. If the price is right its something I would like to get to also.

The transmission mount is about $120 from Joe and one hour of labor. The exhaust hangers would be a little more, maybe another $80 = $200 in parts?

It'll take care of most of the 70 mph vibration (2250rpm in any gear is characteristic of a worn transmission mount). I did the front two engine mounts later - took care of the rest. But they're much more involved - gotta take the suspension apart to get at 'em.
