We recently traded in our 2009 G37 Convertible for a 2011 G37 Convertible Limited Edition - Malbeck Black with Red Leather. The big change is that the seat belts were redesigned AGAIN in 2011 and NOW they work the way they are suppose to. Hoping the dealers can retofit 2009 and 2010 with the new seatbelts.

They fixed them in the 2010 models.

Well, we always had problems with them in 2010. While an improvement over 2009 (which they did retrofit with the 2010 seatbelts), we have to continue to be careful not catch them in the door or ding the leather. When you see the 2011, you will see they redesigned them AGAIN. I will post some pictures later to show you.

My 2010 with 1300 miles has dings on both interior panels. And, as of today, dings on both sides of the roof. I am really frustrated with this!

I cannot get the two snaps on the seatbelt retainer to stay snapped.

Maybe I should just get a 2011...

The seatbelt holders are completely different on the 2011. The belts join in the middle easily (you don't pull it up from the seat anymore) and the recoil is much stronger so the belts do disappear. So far so good. The seatbelt design was the one bad problem we had with the car and it seems they finally fixed it in 2011.

If you have dings in your door, my Infiniti dealer put NEW panels in under warranty - on passenger AND driver side. About $4,000 billed to Infiniti according to my dealer.

They need to set them up like the M so they have electric retractors.

I went and looked at a 2011. Yep. You are right they did change it. I never noticed it when I was looking at it when I was in the shop getting a tsb done. Its exactly the same EXCEPT that the loop now has a pop snap button halfway that can help with the rotation of the loop and keep the lower snaps from unsnapping. Good idea.

I'll check with my dealer to see if they can retrofit on my 2009.

I just bought a used 2010 vert in Oct 13...and both doors have cuts/damage on the interior panels. Otherwise the car is basically perfect (Graphite Shadow/Graphite)...the result of an obviously caring first owner who leased it somewhere in NJ. IF I can get interior door panels replaced UNDER WARRANTY, that would be GREAT....I will certainly look into this. Thanks to the forum for all the good intel I am reading about!
