the road 1990 jdm q45a active sus incident

Driving on a smooth road on the weekend when i hear a noise like i hit a pothole ,only the road is perfect. Continued driving until i reach a less well maintained section of road. Travelled over some small bumps and the car starts to bounce around instead of absorbing them. The Q continued to undulate in a wave like motion over any surface , like reaaaaaaaaly old reaaaaaally worn suspension. I pulled over, disconnected the battery and turned lights to on in order to reset computer. After i restarted car the active sus was working perfect again.

Any ideas what may have occured? Is this a sign of some maintenance i need to carry out? Thankyou for your time.

Have you done the flush and bleed proceedure on the Active ?
