Guys

I got RIGHT to work after getting the car back from the cage builders this weekend. The main goal was to have the motor set in the car by sunday evening, so we could get parts ordered up for the motor mounts and hopefully have it mounted in place by wednesday.

We left off here, tearing the motor down

More removal

Head removed

Pouring all the gunk out of it

Extra parts/trannies

Where the magic happens

Everything dissasembled

Head going in the parts washer

Strainer cleaned and Oil Pan installed

Oil restrictor pressed in

Headstuds installed

Tomei 5 Layer MLS

Head cleaned off

Water galley in place, tomei gaskets on

TB's cleaned and in place

New Front Main seal installed, as well as cam seals. (NOTE - These are identical to the 300ZX cam seals)

Cam gears and valve covers on, intake mani on

Clutch going on

And now this is where the magic starts to happen!

The Pan is currently resting on the cross member. We will be modifying that wednesday as well. The transmission is bolted in to place

And here we have it.....

Also notice I had a custom piece made where the battery used to sit. The final piece will be in stainless and I'll be mounting my AEM EMS on top and hiding a few things behind it

My full-race manifold shipped out today so I will have that by the weekend to make sure it fits and/or if it needs revisions. I cant wait!

West Peroia, damn. You aren't to far from my home town. Galesburg.

And you are putting that into a Fairlady? NICE.

Be sure to let me know your contact info. If I get home this summer, I'll make a trip down there to check the car out. Also might plan a meet up that way as well.

Looks good man,-Neal

I dont plan on pushing this setup hard at all right now. My main goal is to get the motor in the car and running/driving. Once I am satisified with the way it works, I'm going to pull the motor back out, do a clean-up of all the wires, and then finish painting my engine bay. I purposely waited to paint the bay because we'll be welding some plates in for the custom motor mounts and I want this setup to look pretty clean.

I know it sounds like a little bit of extra work but I dont want to be fighing the AEM EMS with a brand new motor.....

Probably another month or so. I Still have to fabricate the radiator setup, the intercooler setup, exhaust, IC piping, etc. Still lots of work to do!

Getting close though

Yes, we removed all the cam caps and put assembly lube on each of the journals and the lobes of the cams....

Looks great man. Those engine bays are so short, have fun with the radiator setup.

What turbo are you putting on that full-race manifold?

Got a big box of **** today, pretty exciting to move forward with the swap

XS Power 3-Row FMIC

24x12x4

For 150 shipped on ebay I couldnt beat this. I talked to alot of supra guys running this IC and they're makign 800-900hp with this FMIC. I figured its kind of hard to screw up an IC so I'd give this one a shot

Next up we have engine goodies!!!

Pauter Rods

CP Pistons

Titan Motorsports 1000cc Injectors

I took a gamble on these too, but Titan sells these injectors with all of their 1000hp fuel systems, so I figured they must be decent

Thats all for now, peace!

Getting boxes of parts is fun. Next week will be a Power FC and T04Z for me

Let me know how that intercooler works out for you. I have a stock GTR intercooler, but it is banged up like crazy and was contemplating that intercooler or a $450 PWR one.

You can't get 1000whp on a Supra with 1000cc injectors.

yare rule of thumb is 1cc per 1hp on an i6 but thats assuming 100% duty, which is a bad idea...those should take you to 800 safely before they poop out.
