Guys

I got RIGHT to work after getting the car back from the cage builders this weekend. The main goal was to have the motor set in the car by sunday evening, so we could get parts ordered up for the motor mounts and hopefully have it mounted in place by wednesday.

We left off here, tearing the motor down

More removal

Head removed

Pouring all the gunk out of it

Extra parts/trannies

Where the magic happens

Everything dissasembled

Head going in the parts washer

Strainer cleaned and Oil Pan installed

Oil restrictor pressed in

Headstuds installed

Tomei 5 Layer MLS

Head cleaned off

Water galley in place, tomei gaskets on

TB's cleaned and in place

New Front Main seal installed, as well as cam seals. (NOTE - These are identical to the 300ZX cam seals)

Cam gears and valve covers on, intake mani on

Clutch going on

And now this is where the magic starts to happen!

The Pan is currently resting on the cross member. We will be modifying that wednesday as well. The transmission is bolted in to place

And here we have it.....

Also notice I had a custom piece made where the battery used to sit. The final piece will be in stainless and I'll be mounting my AEM EMS on top and hiding a few things behind it

My full-race manifold shipped out today so I will have that by the weekend to make sure it fits and/or if it needs revisions. I cant wait!

Other than two photos, this is the first write-up of a RB into Z32 Ive seen. I wanna see the mounts when you finish.

Any idea how big the ITBs are?

how about a SR based Z32? we have a shop up in alberta Canada that swapped in a SR20 and found that it handled better and was faster than the VG30DETT

autodream's SR20 Z32

the SR has lots of potential but in a Z32 it's a novelty item, 33% more displacement of the VG is gonna have more potential power, not to mention the motor is already in the car so you have a headstart, the SR is am improvement in a lot of cars but it's a step down in the Z32

Been done before....I'm not to impressed with it. You can make loads of power off the VG30DETT.

The VG has 50% more displacement, but I think the SR could be a good swap for a NA Z32. But if you have a TT, why give up the head start?

And why is the SR being mentioned in this thread? Screw the SR. This guy's doing an RB swap. The VG purists may not agree, but this is one of two Nissan motors I'd swap in for a VG-TT.

The only reason to swap the SR is weight. Simple as that.

I cant wait to see this RB powered Z run. What a badass car...

sorry you guys are right, i totally faded out there, i forgot that they did start with a 93 rag top, so it was a NA, it's a shame the verts didn't come with the TT. i apologize, i know i would rather keep it a VG, or atleast if i was going to swap i'd atleast choose a RB26

DOAH! math owns me, the SR has 33% less displacement than the VG would have been correct wording, or that the VG has 50% more as you stated it

Got a big box of **** today, pretty exciting to move forward with the swap

XS Power 3-Row FMIC

24x12x4

For 150 shipped on ebay I couldnt beat this. I talked to alot of supra guys running this IC and they're makign 800-900hp with this FMIC. I figured its kind of hard to screw up an IC so I'd give this one a shot

Next up we have engine goodies!!!

Pauter Rods

CP Pistons

Titan Motorsports 1000cc Injectors

I took a gamble on these too, but Titan sells these injectors with all of their 1000hp fuel systems, so I figured they must be decent

Thats all for now, peace!

Dude you kicked me off your rbz32.com . I live in south korea and I work on a army base. I am not a spamer. I suppose I am just going to have to find the info for the swap some other way.

The motor disassembly and install is very interesting! I've never seen pictures of a RB26 install before. I would swap a VH45 into my Z before a RB26 though.
