Got bored with my old box, and wanted alot more port area, thicker wood, and I was just bored lol. I also went with a different tune. I also sold one of my large sub amps, and my HO alternator and went down to 1 amp, and the oem alt, and got rid of 2 of my 4 HUGE batteries.

I got sick of the HO alt giving me troubles, and the oem one couldnt handle 5000+ rms. But it works just fine seeing about 3000rms with 2 big batteries mounted underhood

The box works out to be 16.6 cubic feet, 225" of port area, tuned to 38hzThe subs are Aq 15's, and the amps are a Visonik V4000XD and a Kicker kx650.4

I completely winged the rear/sides/top of the box, measuring as I went, to try and squeeze as much volume as I could out of the rear cargo area, hance when in alot of pics you see L brackets, they were just for mock up. ince I had to build the box inside of the car, its quite messy

Twas a damn tight fit

My sweet homemade circle drawer lol

Front baffles before attaching

All inside seams of the box were cornered with 3-5 layers of chop fiberglass incase anyone is wonderring what the mess is, its the inside of the box, doesnt matter what it looks like

Game the port a quick coat of rubberized rocker guard to see what it would look like, ended it using spray on truck liner though after I finsihed fiberglassing, the rockerguard was to easy to scratch off. And theres some braces to

Subs

Amp front (the kicker is on the BACK of this panel)

The goal was to keep the amps OFF the box, so I made a metal bracket to hold them a 1/4 off the box

Wired

The subs from heaven (my current rackground pic lolb

Wiring them up

Added some beauty panels for around the box (they werent secured here) and finished paiting the port, heres what you see with the seats folded down.

Just thought Id share, Im sure Ill change it before summers over lol, but it bangs pretty nice

Ya the last time i crossed the border with my last wall they made me remove a sub so they could see inside, it was either that or have the dog go inside my car, I hapily removed a woofer lol

I actually do have a hook on the inside to hide things, you just reach around the left side port wall, I just throw my stash in a crown royal cloth zip bag and toss it on the hook

Ya I havent had a rear view in any of my last 3 cars for about 2 years now lol, you get used to it

In the Qx4 I have st350 selenium supertweeters (4") mounted where the rearview would be

Used to be, in both this and my Crx. I stopped late last year though, got bored of winning most of them, and with me, once I get that DB score number, I spent way to much time and money trying to get it up and up and up.

Same reason I dont bring my Crx to the track anymore lol, gotta go faster n faster n faster

I just like having fun daily drivers is all

wow dude, thats a HUGE box, I can imagine the time it took to build inside of the car, how exactly do you screw the panels together on the sides and such without taking it out of the car?

That port and amp are also ginormous. My port is a 3" PVC pipe lol, thats like 100 of them, the math involed with that port musta been pretty crazy to

Any videos?

Also in this pic it shows the fiberglass as being black, is this a different stronger type of fiberglass? I was thinking of doing a fiber glass box myself.

Also, how the hell do you control all the rattle in the car?

That is an awesome build. What are you doing for mids and Highs?

Keep up the work.

It is interesting that the 4 subs share the same air space instead of each having their own space and port.

What kind of air volume are you moving, you should I not really need to ask that question.

Do you ride with ear plugs?

No that isnt a special type of fiberglass or anything, just 3oz chop mat and regular resin. Its black on some pics because I used a brush that was contaminated with black paint from painting another project I ha on the go at the same time lol, nothing special about it.

Keeping the rattles down was tough, there 3 layers of sound deadner on the doors/roof/back hatch, one on the floor, and foam pretty much everywhere I could stuff it between panels. just finding rattles as I heard and found them, there are still some, both nothing major other that my passenger front window, which i have no idea how to stop

For mids n highs Ive got 2 sets of PG rsd 6.5" components fiberglassed in pods in the front doors, getting about 250rms a set. And a set of selenium st350 supertweets where the rear view mirror used to be. Absolutely screams in both bass and treble, but sounds great.

As for being deaf, its honestly "normal" to me now. Like I dont find it loud anymore, like obivously I know its loud since my teeth rattle and your vision blurs and it feels like your getting kicked in the chest, but Im used to it I suppose.

And yeah, the car sits alot lower, people ask me all the time what I used to lower it, its almost on the wheels, and the front is also "lowerred" with all my extra batteries that I managed to fit underhood. Has a nice stance to her

how many batteries were you able to fit under the hood. I can only see space for one large one.

If you did the big 3, can you post some picture. Did you run into any problem running + alt to + battery and did you use a fuse?

I was able to fit 4 batteries up there. I have a blue top as my main, and a large 1200cc 180 min reserve big rig battery as my secondary where my air box used to be right now, and its perfect for the 3000ish rms. I did have 2 more Deka G31's mounted infront of the radiator below the front grill in a custom fabbed carriage.

I did the big 3 aswell in 2/0. Very straight forward, I'll get pics for you later I guess. The alt + to batt is a simply 20" run, and no I didnt fuse it, just ziptied out of the way, perfectly fine.

Can you post some picture of the second battery next to the air box.

Not the greatest pics as it was so sunny I had to close the hood to take pics lol, and my s***s pretty dirty, but you get the idea. Its all 2/0 pure copper wire, except the wire that connects the main batt, to the second batt, which is 1/0.

Main batt, you can see the ground to the strut tower, and the alt + wire wrapped in tech flex

Alt + -> batt + wire, cant see where it connect tot he alt post a bit down there, but you get the idea, ziptied to the side to keep away from motor

Wire that connects main to secondary batt, wrapped in techflex for protection

and cuts up tot he secondary batt

So this is what I had to do intake wise, you can see the mount spot for the 3/16 bar stock from home depot I made here to hold the batt securely

And the ground for the second batt on the strut tower and the amp power runs

This is one of my 2 engine -> chassis grounds. weird angle, but its from my intake manifold bolt to the strut tower. Ive also got one on the drivers side but you cant see it from the top

And to the penises that say 2/0 isnt flexible and you have to pay $5/foot for kicker hyperflex instead of $2.50 for this with twice as much copper

Hope this helped a bit

again, WOT, you are insane.

you might as well rip out the engine and turn that b**** into an EV.

absolutely rediculous. you truly are a bass junkie. NICE WORK

ya lol wow, that is some THICK wiring. But I guess youre moving over 300amps of current so you need it lol. I like your intake arm mod though, never woulda thought to throw another battery over there.

Beats spending $200 on wire to run a battery in the rear of the car

So im curious though, like when the bass is pounding on pretty high volumes, with all your upgraded speakers that are seeing an insane ammount of wattage themselves, can you still hear the "music"?

WOT thanks for you picture.

I must say you are a crazy sob for what you are doing. Keep the good work man.

Those 2/0 are really flexible. Are there made of tiny strains or thick copper?

I will be posting my setup as i am making progress.

Ya its pretty thick wiring, but like I siad, its half the price for this stuff as opposed to the name brand wire, and you get twice as much copper count, just because it doesnt say "kicker" every foot, like it matters?? People only excuse ever when I bring that up is " ya but it isnt flexible ", was just kinda showing that it is, theres no need to be any more flexible than that.

And its many thicker strands of copper, I think its about 180 12gauge strands

Like longhorns said, I kept the second battery under the hood for one to save alot of money in wiring, and to keep the wire runs shorter, less voltage drop, and its just plain easier to have the batteries under the hood

Its defientely still "musical" at full volume to, past 1/2 Id say the bass is overwhelming, but you can definetely still hear the words clearly with my mid/high setup, and trust me, it took a few setups to find one that could keep up witht he bass lol

I shoulda made a video last night, I had like 8 helium filled balloons in the car, and they were just going crazy flying all over, it looked like people were batting them they were moving around the car so fast lol
