Wow!

What a car. That engine growl is sooo tempting. Just tap the gas pedal, it whispers to me. Nobody will know.

Thanks for the comments. I feel like I did overpay a bit for it ($6K), but it runs well and I trust the mechanic (shoot me now). The Pros: I don't know if I can put it into words. I just found myself grinning and giggling. The Cons: it is a used car, a bit of wind noise at speed (yes I'm guilty of that already), worried about the transmission after reading all the posts. It shifts almost imperceptively, mix that with the smooth quiet engine, and I can't tell when it shifts. I like to feel and hear my shifts. I think it's cool though, no probs changing gears, just probs with my perceptions. Tape deck is finicky, fit and finish don't sem up to par with Lexus (though I haven't been in a 12 year old lexus lately). Are the electrics in these car quirky? Also noticed a slight odor from exhaust. Any comments will be appreciated. Also any recommendations on how to clean the BBS style wheels.

The big acid test is tonight. I'm going out with a blond I just met tonight. We'll see about whether I stay at her place or drive home. :icesangel

Do a leather treatment.A lot of folks here like the expesnive ones, but my fave is teh Armor All leather treatment creme.Comes in brown bottle,Isnt sticky like some other stuff, goes in easy, makes the entire car smell nice.

And makes the seats so sooooft.

This site is great! Kudos to all you guys! To think that people just blindly bought used cars only a few years ago, with no input like this.

You will hear more windnoise, it is a peculiarty of the 90-93Q, very lightweight, thin windows, this car was tweaked for performance as much as they could, later years had thicker windows to cut down on noise, I complained about this forever as I came out of a 90 LS400 into the new 92Q. Finally just accepted it as I had moved into an exciting performance car from a very quiet but boring car.

On your date tonight, impress her by NEVER shutting up about your car. Show her every feature four times in a row....then talk non-stop about your online friends that helped you with Info...at the end of the night. Tell her very clearly that you love your car more than you could ever care about a woman...they love that.

well, yer all set!

I once told a girl "If we break up and I still have my car, I think I'll be just fine." So we did, and I'm still happy as a glazed ham! :D

update on the Blond and the Q. She likes the car, she likes me, all I need is that apartment on the water I'm looking at and life can't get better! On that note, is there anything to worry about keping the Q a few feet from a body of salt water? Anything I can do to protect it. Also I asked above if there are any suggestions on cleaning the BBS style wheels

1)No more than other cars, eactually less, cuz the rust proofing is pretty good.2)good waxing job, I am thinking that maybe the 5star system Chad has been enthusing about may be of help, ryan aka rydwht is trying it out right now and I will likely get it myself sometime. But any good wax will likely help.3)Lost of elbow grease (sorry dont mean to sound bad but in my expereince thats what it takes, BUT the results are so smashing those are great looking wheels)

A bottle of Grease Lightning: 45 minutes of your time, 4-6 bucks at Wal-Mart, and a metallic wooden "tooth"brush (3 bucks at home depot).
