The Q moved backwards on a steep driveway on 1st, is this normal?

I was pulling uo to a driveway that was a bit steep, so i put the q on 1st, but it still wanted to roll back.

is this normal or do i have a problem?new trans at 85k, now it has 115k, its 92.

Think of it this way what is the maxium MULTILIPED rear wheel torque.....9.85 x 300 [at 4,000 rpm] x 0.787= 2325 lb/ft / 2 tires.......so when does the inclined weight [force of gravity] of the car exceed the max power............doubt you were try to pull at 4,000 rpm so the torque might be half a third or nothing or less negative!

What is the maximum incline a Q can accelerate up in each gear --------simple physics and trig problem.

Are you asking at what angle a Q will roll backwards at idle in gear with the engine fighting gravity. The torque convertor slip is the primary variable at idle since there is almost no excess power from the engine!............if there was excess power the engine wouldn't idle but accelerate.

so i take it that it is normal for a car to do that. I cant believe the car is 4k lbs when it moves so effortlessly.
