Hey guys. Sad to say, but due to some recent events I'm selling the Pulsar. I'll try to make a build thread for it later if I get time. Short story is the motor lost all it's oil on the interstate and seized. Idk the condition of the head. I pulled a couple cam caps and they're scored, but I think it may still be usable. Here's the for sale thread:

Contact me if you want to know anything more. Thanks.

Just a freak accident. I actually traded it to a friend and the next night he was driving down the interstate and the adapter fittings I had for the oil pressure sending unit snapped out of the block. The oil pressure gauge had been giving funky readings anyways and since it wasn't grounded anymore the dummy light didn't come on. The first thing he heard was all the lifters ticking, but he thought it was a bracket rattling or something so he kept driving. Then when the rods started knocking he thought he was close enough to drive it to his granddad's shop. He didn't want to stop on the side of the interstate and he seized the motor.

I felt bad for him so I bought the car back from him. I'm actually pretty annoyed about it. Had I been driving I would've shut it down as soon as I heard the lifter tick. The bearings probably would've been fine, but worst case I would've only had to pull the oil pan and put new rod bearings in it. Oh well, I can't say I really blame him and there's not really much to do about it now. Crap happens, so live and learn.

It's like in the movie 'Highlander' ... there are so few of us left whenever one passes we all feel it. The gathering is upon us :(

seriously though, sad to hear, I hope someone can get it and take care of the motor.

Man, you are a very nice guy for buying the car back from him. As a matter of fact, the individual that did the trade with you should've known better; that strange noises are that normal if they weren't there when he took possession of the car. It would be nice to have as a collector, but I don't have time for my own cars anymore. I am definitely sorry about the seizing of a CA. If that happens, carelessness is afoot.

Yeah, it's a real bummer of a situation. Since I'm sure I'll have a hard time selling it, I may rebuild it again later on down the road (but with much more serious intent). I just have a hard time justifying it because this chassis isn't what I want to start with for a base of the huge build I have envisioned. And being in the game of oddball cars and motors it's hard to sell for anything that to me would seem reasonable. I pulled a couple cam caps off and I think the head should still be usable, so I may just pull the motor, try to get the crank out of it, and either have it cut or throw in a new crank and bearing and have another go with it. But at the same if I pull it apart again I'm gonna want to do more to it than it's worth. So idk, I guess I'll figure out what to do in due time.

I saw this car for sale on Nashville Craigslist. Really does suck man I would love to buy it, but I have to rebuild the CA in my s13. Hopefully someone will come along and pick it up.
