Motorex was charging about $20,000 to legalize them when they were still the approved importer by the govt. Since they closed there have only been spurts of quasi legal importing of Skylines. I saw a Motorex R34 for sale at Park Place in Bellevue WA a couple years back, I think it was a V-Spec II model listed at $160,000. This was because it is just about impossible to find "legal" R34's in the US.
If some group decided to persue the legalization process like Motorex did years ago then i'm sure they could charge whatever they wanted to legalize their cars for sale. But getting the testing done for the R32-R34 GT-R and GTS models would most likely not be worth it. The R33 GTS model testing is the only one that has been done, but I think that you would have to pay a lot to get that info, and whats the point having that info would only allow you to get R33 GTS's legalized. Not a hot ticket item. I still have the edited crash test data from Motorex that the federal govt had to release somewhere on my comp.
So yeah, its generally very expensive to get a Skyline down here, even the state legal (non-federal) Skylines have mark-ups, way more expensive than Canadian Skylines.
