I bought my car from a 75 year old mechanic who lived alone and had 3 other cars there. He originally bought my 240 from a wrecking yard he had partial ownership of to fix up and give to his grandson as a gift for going to college (hence crappy rims and exhaust). He gave the kid a choice between the 240 and a Miata, kid took the Miata, I took the 240. I think I made out pretty sweet.Anyway, the guy knew a ton about cars, used to race M3's and whatnot. He said the 240 just had more power than he needed (other 3 cars were a Miata, I30, and 200sx). He also said a lot of people checked out the car but he turned them down because they kept trying to knock off a bit of money here and there for little problems (he already marked it down to $4k, which is as cheap as you can find them down here in socal). He liked me because I knew a lot about the car (he actually asked me about what the engine came from, and was pleased when I answered it was originally in a truck), and so we made the deal and both were happy. He even had a friend in the DMV push the papers through so I didn't have to set foot in the DMV. It was an excellent experience.Since then I removed the pinstripes he put on after the repaint, new stereo, new gauges, new speakers, new rear deck lid, new alarm, and one new scrape in the paint from a parking lot

. Anyway, I think he'd be pleased with it, kinda feel sorry for him though, he's real old and obviously becoming senile... he was a good guy though, and I think he felt better knowing the car was going to someone who would appreciate it.
