I work in an auto salvage yard here in North Carolina and yesterday we got in a '92 vert. A bit rough, it does have some rust, the motor is shot, but I can take care of a new motor. It's white, says "SE" on the trunk lid and has "Limited Edition" on the sides. Pretty much complete except the cat got cut out as well as the fuel tank, and the wheels were removed of course. My question is, how much rust is too much? I don't mind work and time is no issue, but funds stay tight. Oh yeah, I have to decide pretty fast before anything else happens to it, like in the next day or two, so any help making this decision is greatly appreciated.

If you have not done so all ready, please add that vert to our registry.

Thanks.

if anything grab it for a parts car. you never know when you may need something.

i have a parts car i was going to bring back to life. it had huge holes in the floor and in other parts of the car. there are cheap ways to take care of those problems. i have pulled so much usefull stuff off the shell, it was well worth having it.

Pics are out of the question. I'm on d/u. I haven't had the time to get a really good look under it, but there's rust along the header panel where the windshield and top meet, a lil about a foot back from the door up near where the top starts. and some one the trunk lid. I'd say it's probably ugly underneath. I only ask this because I've got a solid '89 coupe with a junk but rebuildable motor that I've been prepping for a roller cam 302. I could do the same thing to the vert if I get it, but Im not sure if it's worth trying to save. Sorry, but it hurts me to see it.

Tomorrow being payday, I'm hoping to haggle a bit with the boss. Who knows? If the numbers work out, I may be bringing it home this weekend.
